After a difficult afternoon last weekend against Dawley, this weeks fixture has been reversed and we’re back on home soil this Sunday.

It doesn’t get any easier, as we welcome another strong side in Albrighton to Balufab Stadium.

The ladies have regrouped and rested, and are ready to bounce back. We know it will be another tough test, but with home advantage and the support of you behind us, we’ll be looking to put in a performance to be proud of.

Today’s players of the match, one of which was awarded by the Referee, was awarded to Goalkeeper Loz, for a second consecutive game.

The other was awarded by the manager of Dawley Ladies, that was awarded to centre back, Beth.

Market Drayton Ladies 0-7 Dawley Ladies.

Unfortunately not the start we wanted, and a first half that was disappointing to concede Five. Then in the second half we competed well, Then a Free kick which caused plenty of confusion was it hand ball or was it an offside, it was awarded as an offside in our favor. Ultimately that free kick wasn’t going to change the game and they went on too score two more . However we definitely found a way to break them down, with long balls over the top. We unfortunately had one that found its way over the bar, and a free kick which was dangerous, just unfortunately we couldn’t be clinical enough to put them away.

Thank you to Tigers U11s girls who accompanied the ladies out at the start of the game.

All attention to Sunday when we are on the road to face a very difficult Albrighton side. Thank you to those who attended.

MATCHDAY SQUAD!

Here’s today’s squad as we open our season with a home fixture against top side, Dawley.

A few changes to the team that traveled to face Shawbury in our last pre-season friendly, with a couple of people today unfortunately unavailable to play, and a couple of players who today are available.

We play today with a squad of 14 players, but one that can hopefully get the result that everyone wants to start the season.

After a long pre-season of hard work, commitment and preparation, the wait is finally over — it’s matchday!

We’re delighted to get our season underway at home as we welcome Dawley Town Ladies to the Balufab Stadium. We know we have a challenging game ahead against a strong Dawley Town Ladies side who will be looking to finish at the top end of the league, and we have nothing but respect for the opposition. However we know that we can still compete.

Making today’s occasion even more special, the U11s Tigers girls pictured on our matchday poster will be walking out alongside our Ladies team before kick-off.
