Bassetlaw Triathlon πββοΈπ΄ββοΈπββοΈ
Last weekend saw one of our biggest turnouts at a race yet as Mansfield Triathlon Club took on the Bassetlaw Triathlon, hosted in the beautiful surroundings of Worksop College.
We feel like weβre saying this at every race at the momentβ¦ but thatβs only because we keep getting bigger! ππ€β€οΈ
It was fantastic to see MTC represented across all three events, with athletes taking on the sprint triathlon, duathlon and the relay. The event itself offered something for everyone, from those taking on their first triathlon to more experienced athletes looking to push themselves, with the triathlon consisting of a 400m pool swim, 23km bike and 5km run.
As always, there were some fantastic performances right across the board. Whether it was chasing a new PB, completing a first race, stepping up to a new challenge or simply getting around and enjoying racing with the club, every single athlete should be incredibly proud of their performance.
A particular shout-out goes to Phoebe, who secured a fantastic podium finish in her age group! π₯A huge step in the right direction and a brilliant reward for all the training.
It was also great to see athletes representing MTC in the relay, showing that racing doesnβt always have to be about doing all three disciplines yourself. The relay is a brilliant way to get involved, experience the atmosphere of race day and, most importantly, have some fun with friends and teammates.
The biggest takeaway from the weekend, however, was once again the strength of the club atmosphere. Seeing so many yellow, black and red MTC kits around the course, supporting one another before, during and after racing, is exactly what being part of a club is all about.
A massive well done to everyone who raced, and a huge thank you to everyone who came along to support, cheer, take photos and represent the club.
And to Bassetlaw Triathlon Club β thank you for putting on a fantastic event and for welcoming us to the new Worksop College venue. Weβll definitely be back! π
MTC is growing, racing, supporting and having more fun than ever. Onwards to the next one! ππ€β€οΈ

Another fantastic few weeks of racing for Mansfield Triathlon Club, with our athletes continuing to represent the club brilliantly across a range of events.ππ΄π
Debs produced two excellent performances, starting with the Ripon Triathlon, which also doubled as a GB Age Group Qualifier. After a strong race, we now have everything crossed as we wait to hear whether she has done enough to secure qualification for the GB Age Group Team.
She then backed that up with another impressive result at the Belvoir Castle Sprint Triathlon. Known for its challenging, undulating course, Belvoir is never an easy race, making Debs' performance all the more impressive.
Also making the trip to Belvoir Castle was Lee, who took on the demanding Middle Distance Duathlon (10km run, 90km bike, 10km run). Lee delivered a superb performance to achieve a personal best over the distance, improving on his time from last year π
A brilliant string of results once again from our MTC athletes π€πβ€οΈ

This past weekend, MTC headed back to Outlaw Holkham β a firm club favourite and one we keep coming back to year after year! πΏππ΄π
The focus this weekend was the Gravel Sprint Triathlon, a race that's every bit as fun as it is challenging. Set within the stunning grounds of Holkham Hall, the course combines open water swimming, fast and technical gravel riding, and an off-road run to create a really unique race experience.
We had a fantastic turnout from the club, with every member putting in a brilliant performance. Whether it was chasing a PB, racing for the podium, or simply enjoying the experience, everyone had their own goals and achievements to celebrate.
Special mentions go to Judith and Lisa, who both completed their very first triathlon! As well as Steve, who made a successful return to racing π
There was podium success too, with Lewis taking age group victoryπ₯ and Hannah claimed an excellent 3rd place in her age group π₯ after returning to racing following a long break.
A huge well done to every MTC member who raced, and thank you to everyone who came along to support ππ€β€οΈ
Next up, we head to the Bassetlaw Sprint Triathlon Bassetlaw Triathlon Club of which could be our best MTC represented race ever! It's local, fast, and this year features a brand-new course that we're all looking forward to taking on.

What a weekend for Mansfield Triathlon Club! ππ΄π
This weekend, MTC was out in force at the Dambuster Triathlon at Rutland Water, with one of the biggest club turnouts we've ever had at a race. It was fantastic to see so many members representing the club, supporting one another, and putting in some incredible performances.
With the event also doubling as a World Championship Age Group Qualifier, there was plenty at stake. The warm conditions made for a challenging day, but the closed-road bike course provided the perfect opportunity for some fast bike splits!
A huge congratulations to everyone who took part, and a special mention to Debs and Andrew, who both secured Age Group podium finishes, an outstanding achievement! π
A special shout-out also goes to our newest member, Steve, who completed not only his first open water triathlon, but also his very first open water swim! Talk about being thrown in at the deep end, an incredible achievement! π
It's fantastic to see the club continuing to grow, not only in numbers but also in the strength, support and success of our members. Whether it was chasing podiums, personal bests, or simply taking on a brand-new challenge, every member should be proud of their performance.
Well done, Team MTC! π€πβ€οΈ
