Welcome to a damp night at Field Mill in Nottinghamshire. New ground for me 😊. The boys are in red. We've had a few losses over the years at the hands of Clough Jr. Will tonight be a different matter?
Assal lines up in the hole behind Davison and NYC. The correct choice after Saturday's efforts.
Imho the best away ground in the country...why? Yellow and blue everywhere! Feeling right at home. COYD!

Just got in. 2-0 on a wet and windy Tuesday night in Accrington. It doesn't get much better than that.
Positives:
- great team display
- gutsy, really got stuck in
- Assal and Palmer always on it, with great support from Rudi and McCormick. Osew also did really well.
- Nik making a worldy save in the last few minutes; when you have done not much for 85 minutes, that takes some doing...and he's ours! 😍
- We didn't take Assal and Palmer off and therefore didn't crumble
- The whole team and management coming over to celebrate with us at FT - Bayzo is nuts!
-A team that really cares about pulling on the Dons shirt. They'll do for me!
- visiting a proper football ground that's really looking smart these days, friendly staff and free coffee courtesy of their Chairman
-189 away fans that sounded like 1000!
- Catching up with some old pals.

Delighted to say that after a very long time, The Holy Trinity of Stuart Young, Dave Kenwery and myself have reunited at the Crown Pub next to Accrington's ground. We would do a broadcast but we're too busy catching up and having a beer. It's wet and wild up here in deepest Lancashire, and our predictions are as follows:
Dave: 3-1 Dons
Stuart: 2-2
Marco (Me): 5-4 Dons.
Strangely, nobody predicts a Dons clean sheet...

Very excited. First game since Tranmere away in December 2019. Looking forward to some top quality banter on the train later. Might there be anyone on the LNER service getting into Newcastle at 12:50? We're joining the train at York.

Oh my. What a s**t match. We were outclassed, outmuscled and outfought in every department.
Tranmere wanted it more. Far far more. Granted, we have injuries - Waggy, Woody & Will all walk into this side if fit. Mystified that Pinnock still continues to command a starting place. To say he's woeful is an understatement. Guinness Walker was mugged so many times down the left by their winger that I lost count. Mcloughlin is not a right wing back. Nor is O'Neill a centre half. Nothing went through our midfield. Equally mystified that Delaney can't get a start when he was superb at Bolton and continues to impress. The only moments of class were from Forss and Sanders, not coincidentally our players! Alas, nobody was on the end of their cutbacks ( but I bet Osew would've been). Pinnock subbed on about 75 minutes, 74 minutes too late. Wood given far too little time to make an impact . Trott made a world class save first half and was the shining light in a turd-infested match - only he kept the score down below 4-0. We are still shockingly frail at the back, being cut open almost at will. I gave the side a thumbs down at the end, and waved goodbye to Forss as I suspect I won't see him in a Dons shirt again.
However, I was proud to have both my kids at a Wimbledon match for the first time! Proud Dad moment. I feel very sorry for the folks who travelled a very long way and spend a big chunk of their hard-earned to watch that shower of s**te. That was NOT the kind of performance any of us expect from a Wimbledon side. To be outplayed is fair enough, but out-battled is just not on. Merry Christmas to one and all.
On an aside, Tranmere Rovers are a friendly club and I sincerely hope both sides will be plying their trade in League 1 next season.
