Walk, jog or run at your own pace - it's not a race! It's a free, timed 5 km event every Saturday at 9 o'clock in lovely Manor Park, Mansfield Woodhouse.

Or you could help as a volunteer! We have oodles of free parking and our course is mostly flat. For parkrun FAQs please look here

"Oh, no, I'm not a runner." That's often what I hear when I stop on Sunday mornings to chat and hand out an invite on our Manor Park course. It's also what I hear when I ask if they would like to join us any Saturday at 9 o'clock. So I tell 'em that parkrun isn't ONLY for runners and that it's just as much a 'parkwalk' or a 'parkjog' and that it's NOT a race. You go at your own pace.

It's a great way to get fit or stay fit and it's good to be part of a group who feel similarly. If you're not a runner but like walking or would like to start then why not give Mansfield parkrun a try? We'll be pleased to see you! 😊

As we expected we're short of one finishing token, number 85.

If you didn't have your parkrun ID and finish token scanned after finishing please get in touch: [email protected] and PLEASE return your finisher token next time you visit Manor Park. We need every token to make the run results work - thank you. πŸ™‚

BRILLIANT! 😊 First a big shout-out and thank you to ALL our wonderful volunteers who gave today - as they do every event - their time and effort in making Mansfield parkrun the undoubted success it is. 😍 Thank you also to visitor Jim O'Connor from Brierley who helped scan our finishers and to our regular Mansfield runner, Alex Harvie who ran and then was also a scanner.

We had a great event made even better by the wet-conditions alternative course. I stood at Pooh Puddle ready to photograph intrepid participants only to find most of 'em preferred to keep their feet dry. lol 😁 I do understand, though, as I hate running with wet feet! πŸ˜„

Another enjoyable parkrun Saturday. πŸ˜ƒ Photos to follow later.....

6 o'clock, it's a fine morning and apart from Pooh Corner - Pooh Puddle? - the course is in good condition. Just hoping the rain will hold off 'til about 10 o'clock. πŸ‘πŸ˜Š

As always, you guys 'ave a good un. β€οΈπŸ˜€

ps The puddle HAD drained away a little since yesterday but was still noticeably there! lol 😁

It's definitely welligog weather on Saturday! Course could be muddy in places with a puddle or three possible. Try not to splash me as you go by! lol πŸ˜„πŸ˜‚

Getting closer to the weekend and this one may be a little different from the ones we've been experiencing for some time - there may be rain! lol 😁 If it rains hard the course could have puddles so you might want to bring some wellies and carry a brolly.πŸ˜… That's what I'll be doing anyway!

Now while I have your attention how are you fixed for helping out every now and then as a volunteer? In their pre-run briefing RDs usually ask for help from regular runners and I'll chip in by saying that unless parkrun is your only run each week you could miss it for just one Saturday. It would help us enormously if you could carry out one of the volunteer roles instead - please.

You know the situation that "insufficient volunteers = no parkrun" and often it's a struggle to get sufficient. Also if one of you regulars could fill one of the open roles one weekend then a volunteer team member could run for a change. You might even see me doing it! 😁

Seriously, though, just being an occasional volunteer would greatly help. Whadya think? [email protected] is the best way to make contact.

ps We are flattered and honoured when visitors choose Mansfield parkrun and doubly-so when they come as volunteers. But we don't want to appear to be poaching because many centres also struggle to find enough volunteers.

OK there are a few more days to go but regulars will probably know I don't leave stuff 'til later. 😏

So on that basis we still need one, or ideally two, more barcode scanners. Or I'll switch from handing out finish tokens to scanning if anyone prefers that arrangement.

Please email us at: [email protected]

For the Bank Holiday we already have the most important guy - Mr Bob Thacker - setting up the course and reporting its condition to the next-most important guy, Run Director Mr John Mulholland. Then as usual we'll have Mr Chalky White welcoming participants new to our beautiful Manor Park. Bob will also be the essential Tail Walker. What we still need are the vitally important Timers and Scanners, two of each.

We could be struggling if our regulars are away that holiday weekend so if you're around and can help please email [email protected] and please include your parkrun ID number.

When timers and scanners are in place I'll then be able to do my little bit enabling our brilliant Results Processor and Course Marshal, Mr Garry Checklin, to work his magic after the finish - job done! πŸ˜ŠπŸ‘

On re-ordering the finish tokens today number 113 was missing. Please check whether you have it in your kit and return it next week to the RD or VC in the finish area.

thank you πŸ˜ŠπŸ‘

Sorry there's been a delay with the results. Our results processor is sorting out an anomaly and should soon have the results posted - keep checking! πŸ˜ŠπŸ‘ ps Did you get the sunshine I tried to order for 9 o'clock? πŸ˜„πŸ˜
