This weekend, Team Nemesis competed in the Tatry Cup at the Maurice Chandler Sports Centre in Market Drayton.

The Tatry Cup CIO is a registered charity that brings together sport, culture, and community from Slovakia, Czechia and the United Kingdom. A huge thank you to Michaela Misha, Vladimír Patrik Paľko and the organising team for a fantastic weekend of hockey, friendship and food (the goulash and sausages were amazing 😋)

We were also made to feel incredibly welcome by the Mayor of Market Drayton, Councillor Tim Manton, and were honoured to meet the Ambassador of the Slovak Republic, Peter Susko.

As for the hockey, Team Nemesis gave everything all weekend and competed hard in every game. Saturday saw us face the Rockets (0-6), Team Tatry (0-3), and then earn a hard-fought 2-2 draw against the Knights.

After a demanding first day on the rink, the team enjoyed a well-earned meal together, courtesy of the New Inn at Newport. Energised by generous helpings of sundaes and cherry pie, we were ready for another 8am start the next morning, against a very strong Czech side. Despite a 0-9 loss, the team battled until the final whistle, defending resolutely against a well-drilled opponent. Later that morning, we added another goal against Tayside Thunder in a 1-5 defeat, before rounding off the tournament in style with an excellent 3-2 victory against Knights. Goals from Lewis and Conrad helped secure the win and put the perfect finishing touch on a superb weekend of hockey.

A massive thank you to the referees, time keepers, to Andy Binns for organising our entry again this year and to everyone involved in making the Tatry Cup such a memorable event. We hopefully look forward to seeing you all again next year! 🏒💙💛🇸🇰🇨🇿🇬🇧

Well done to Nemesis & GB Lions Blue's Mike Lee #74, Ben Inglis #33 and Daniel Harness #4, along with former 2025/26 Nottingham Nemesis player Conrad Gray, who all represented the team at this year's Amálka Summer Cup in Kladno, Czechia.

Facing young, fast and highly skilled opposition, as well as blazing sunshine, injuries and the occasional rain shower, the Blues produced some excellent performances throughout the tournament, including holding the tournament favourites to just a handful of goals on day #2.

Conrad Gray (Nottingham Titans BHC), Alex Simon (Greasley Bears Ball Hockey Club) and our very own GM Mike Lee, all logged some GB international points.

A huge thank you to Long Eaton Lightning Ball Hockey Club’s David Carnell for leading the Blue team alongside his A's, and to Chris Payne for expertly managing the logistics behind a very successful trip. Finally, thank you to Ball Hockey UK’s President Chris Slack and team for continuing to make GB participation at this fantastic event possible.

Well done to everyone involved for supporting and representing GB and their clubs with pride, making the… not possible… possible! 👏

🇬🇧🦁🏒

Last night, a Nemesis Select Team took on the GB Lions Blue Team (sporting the white jerseys!) as part of their preparations for this weekend's tournament in Kladno, Czechia.

Whilst the game finished 12-4 in favour of GB, Nemesis delivered a strong performance throughout and caused plenty of problems for their opponents in a fast-paced, hard-fought three-period contest played 5-on-5.

Lewis Loasby and James Tasker each found the net twice for Nemesis, while Team GB's Conrad Gray led the scoring with an impressive 6-goal haul.

A special mention and best of luck to Nemesis players Ben Inglis, Daniel Harness and Mike Lee, who will be representing Great Britain at this weekend's Amálka Summer Cup. Team GB will face strong opposition, including Swiss side Oberwil Rebells II, Slovakia's Nitra, and a selection of top Czech teams. Good luck to both GB squads - Lions White and Lions Blue!

Finally, thank you to Luke Thornton and Dan Erridge for officiating and timekeeping.

So how about a Nemesis - GB goal? 🇬🇧 🏒

Well, Hazel Taylor #8 stepped up with an superb goal for GB against Czechia today!

In a hard-fought contest, GB battled back to draw level time and time again, but Czechia eventually edged the game 4-3.

Once again, we’re incredibly proud of our player-coach, our Nemesis players and the entire Women's Legends team for their passion, determination, and performance.

👏💙💛 ❤️🤍💙

A massive congratulations to our very own Hazel Taylor #8 and Nikki Croxall #26, who represented Great Britain today at the ISBHF World Ball Hockey Women’s Legends Tournament in Černovice, Czechia. 🇬🇧🏒

GB matched the USA stride for stride for much of the game, with the sides evenly poised until three unanswered goals late on gave the Americans the edge. Several breakaways, excellent zone exits, and some superb attacking play created plenty of chances, but luck just wasn't quite on GB's side in front of goal. On another day, this could easily have finished 3-3.

A special mention and extra congratulations to Nikki, who was deservedly named Player of the Game for her outstanding performance. 👏⭐

Well done to Hazel, Nikki, and the entire GB Women’s Legends squad on a fantastic performance. You should all be incredibly proud! 🇬🇧💙🏒
