I’m a yogi and yoga teacher offering Vinyasa Flow classes and private tuition to people of all levels including beginners.

Established Senior Yoga Teacher ✦ Inclusive, anatomy-led tuition ✦ Specialist in Yoga for Men, Sport & Athletes ✦ Group, private & corporate sessions ✦ Executive Coach ✦ Focusing on strengthening, heating and balancing poses to awaken muscles and safely challenge the body, with restorative postures to bring the body and mind to a nurturing close. For me, the apex of Yoga is finding strength and confidence, mentally and physically, and is accessible to everyone.

Injuries are the second biggest reason men avoid Yoga. Bah.

The first reason? Flexibility. Or lack of. But I’ll never stop saying this: Tightness is assumed. I assume people begin tight, and if there’s flexibility, cool, both extremes, cool cool! (Also, more of my male clients are hypermobile than my female clients, just to throw assumptions into the bin. Hypermobile crew, I’ve got you too; you don’t always get out lightly though…).

Back to injuries.

Injuries being a reason men assume yoga isn’t for them.
But, injuries are absolutely NOT a reason to avoid yoga. In most cases, they’re a reason to prioritise it.

Examples are:
🦵Tight hips after years of running.
💪 A shoulder that’s been unhappy since that tennis friendly in 2019.
⚡️A lower back that gets vocal after long days at a desk.
🦴 Joints that ache in a way that we tell ourselves is just age, but actually, it’s underuse (and thereforen won’t ever improve without use).

I work with bodies that are carrying a lot. I work with bodies that have done a lot. That still do a lot. I work with brains that are busy such that bodies don’t get much say (takes one to know one 🙋‍♀️).

I work with runners, cyclists, desk workers, tradespeople, dads, grandads, former sports-team members, normal, wonderful humans who haven’t moved properly in years.

I specialise in sport and injuries, and every class I teach offers modifications throughout so you work to what your body can actually do on the day.

You provide the relevant info when you book. I take it from there.

Our classes are structured but freeing. Intelligent but joyful. Anatomy-focused but not limited.

My Yoga Class for Men runs on Thursdays @ 7:30-8:30pm in Cheadle Hulme. We start up again on 3rd September. A new term is a great place to settle in with others doing the same.

Welcomes all levels, especially Beginners. For those who know your downward dog from your dandasana, you will also be challenged!

Join me and 12 men who do yoga!

Yoga Class for Men is back in 3 weeks! Let's return to WHY this class was created....

Why the hell not? Because nobody would come, Yes. That was a genuine worry. Turns out I was safe: female clients kept telling me their partners would benefit from yoga but would never set foot in a regular class. Too self-conscious. Too tight. Too new.

And way too much Lycra!
Men don't see themselves in a yoga studio, because men aren't shown in studios, or adverts, or holding a mat. Not in the West, anyway. Yet everyone deserves what yoga gives you. It doesn't ask for perfection, exact alignment, or a particular set of chromosomes.

Yoga frees the body. Calms a busy mind. Builds the wellness, mobility and stability everyone needs.

I'm an ex-long-distance runner, ex-boxer, recovering corporate stress-head with hamstrings, hips and a jaw that were permanently locked. Yoga wasn't for me either, until it was. It changed everything, and it complements everything: running, parenting, ADHD-ing, stress, boredom, fatigue.

Don't say no to yoga until you've tried it. It's never as bad as the anticipation, and it might add years to your life.

Local? My new term starts THURSDAY 3 SEPT @ 7:30 to 8:30pm, Cheadle Hulme, Stockport. £16 per class or commit to real changes (and discount!) and sign up for the Sept-Dec bundle (most do).

Some days are goodies and full of vibrancy and fun and foliage 🪴🌴 I dig those days!

I also dig the freedom to plan a home-day the day after fun stuff so that I can decompress and ready myself for the next one!

📸 YOU ARE THE BEST - there ain’t nobody else I’d swish my curls for 🫣😆

Who digs a reminder? 🙋‍♀️
Who sometimes think they’ve communicated things when it’s mostly just in their head? 🙋‍♀️

Ignore as you need, or celebrate if you wish (like/share/love 🙏🏼) dropping this here as signpost for anyone who desires a dollop of yoga-freedom next month.

I’m on email for any questions or concerns:

The memory things on iPhone, sometimes annoying, sometimes joy-bringing ~ this is the latter! Me, on this day, 2015. A new client at class last night ( 👋🏼 ) asked how long I’d been teaching and mad to think how long it’s been (not how old I am! 🫣)

I’ll probably forget to reenact this next time we’re in Cornwall ( 📸 Lands End, Cornwall ) but a timely reminder to celebrate our achievements which at one time felt new, hopeful and not-really-real 🫶🏼

Ps. Turns out yoga does t get tired or boring - still loving it as much as I ever did, just less yogi selfies out and about!

. Year four! 👏🏼✨⚡️
Month of August.
No Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn.

It started the first summer my son went to school. Felt like a big deal at the time so I tried it quietly, but the liberation came early and I stuck to it. Every summer since!

BUT…. I own my own business, I am my business 🫣

September is my biggest month for both yoga starters and coaching enquiries ahead of September. And I’m an ex-media-planner so I know exactly what a month of silence does to reach and viability 🫣

I do it anyway.

Because I have a son who wants more attention than Instagram does, and I know where the right direction is.

Last August I:
📚 Read loads
📸 Took fewer photos
🎵 Listened to music more
💬 Had aimless chats with actual humans
👣 Went on walks with my lad
🧠 Was more intentional, focused, content
😌 Less distracted, less overwhelmed

QUESTION: Could you take a summer off socials?

Don’t dismiss it instantly. How does it feel just thinking about it?

I’ll be scheduling some posts while I’m away, so you might still see me. Still my words, still authentic, just not written live. If you’re sticking around, an engage, a comment, a like, would genuinely help a small business owner!!

SPILL your thoughts, fears at even contemplating this. Could you and would you do it??

2 days to go, I’m listening… 👇🏼
