THE ALGORITHM ENTERS THE NODAL AXIS

Meta has unsurprisingly agreed, pending court approval, to some major restrictions for teenage Facebook and Instagram accounts in participating US states. These will include daily time limits, night-time blocks, hidden likes and supposedly much stronger parental controls.

I am hardly the only astrologer noticing the symbolism here. There is already a wealth of astrological commentary around Pluto in Aquarius, Uranus in Gemini and the Nodes entering Aquarius and Leo. This is not me planting a flag and claiming I predicted Meta’s legal settlement - I didn’t. It is just one current example within a much, much larger conversation.

In my own little article about the nodal shift, I wrote:

“Whether being visible is the same as being valuable. It is not.”

The South Node in Leo questions our dependence upon attention, performance and applause. The North Node in Aquarius intensifies technology, algorithms, regulation and the power held by collective systems.

The upcoming Pisces lunar eclipse (tonight and tomorrow) opposes the Sun and Mercury in Virgo, with all three square Uranus in Gemini. That can coincide with sudden announcements, technical changes and uncomfortable information involving wellbeing, communication and digital systems.

Jupiter trine Saturn may help turn public pressure into formal policy. Mars square Saturn suggests the resistance and implementation arguments probably will not be far behind. So this is just the beginning!

I don’t think that we can claim that Astrology caused this. It simply gives us a symbolic framework for examining what is already happening, and is yet to happen.

“What remains of me when nobody is clapping?”

And who controls the system deciding whether anyone hears it?

Nobody books an astrology reading because life is behaving itself.

People usually arrive when the relationship feels different, the job no longer fits, or an old pattern has returned wearing a new hat and claiming to be somebody else.

That is where astrology can be useful. Not as a celestial instruction service, but as a language for recognising patterns, pressures, timing and possibility.

A birth chart can help describe the territory. It cannot choose the relationship, resign from the job, pay the invoice or remove the astrologer’s own assumptions from the room.

Sharing my astrology overview for 25 to 31 August for anyone following the week’s transits.

The central event is Friday’s lunar eclipse in Pisces. The Moon opposes the Sun and Mercury in Virgo, while Uranus in Gemini squares both ends of the opposition. This creates a mutable T-square involving emotion, information, routines, communication and the need to adjust quickly.

It is potentially revealing, but it does not justify treating every delayed email as a message from the underworld.

The week begins with a plan.

Uranus has read the plan and would like a word.

Mercury enters Virgo on Tuesday and immediately starts correcting the margins. By Friday, the Pisces lunar eclipse opens the emotional filing cabinet while Uranus in Gemini changes the system with the file still open.

This eclipse is not working alone. The Moon in Pisces opposes the Sun and Mercury in Virgo, while Uranus squares both sides. Feelings, facts and sudden developments have apparently booked the same meeting room. There will be no biscuits.
