This Sunday, our Denton West Girls head to Dukinfield CC for what promises to be a brilliant afternoon of tournament cricket!

The girls have been training incredibly well, working hard together and continuing to develop every week and now they get another opportunity to pull on the Denton West shirt and represent the club. 💚💛

🏏 HUGE WEEKEND OF CRICKET FOR WEST! 🌹

Big games right across our senior sides this weekend as we head into the business end of the season!

The 1st XI host Horwich at Windsor Park, while the 2nd XI travel to Wythenshawe on Saturday.

Then on Sunday, the 3rd XI head to Roe Green looking to finish the weekend strongly.

Three teams. Three huge games. Get down and support the lads! 💚💛

We now turn our attention to this coming Sunday 6th September, as we host our second DWDC Darts Championship.

The lads are gearing up to fight for the title (currently held by Sammy ‘The Sniper’ Hume) as 16 of our players and members go head to head in a straight knock-out.

Walk out songs will feature so come down to cheer the lads on!

Places are unfortunately booked up, but we will be doing Killy’s 180 Dart Challenge throughout the afternoon, where anyone can enter for £1 a ticket. If your tickets drawn, hit a 180 combined score within 9 darts for a £20 bar tab 👌🏼

Announcement: Funeral of James Bradshaw

Hayley and the family have asked us to share the funeral details:

James’ funeral will take place on Tuesday, 15th September, at 11:00 a.m. at Dukinfield Crematorium, and afterwards at Denton Golf Club.

All are welcome to come together and celebrate the life of our friend.

🏏 A GREAT FIRST TOURNAMENT FOR OUR WOMEN’S TEAM! 🏏

Monday 31st August saw a little bit of history for Denton West Cricket Club, as our Women’s team competed in their first ever tournament at the Bredbury St Marks Festival! 👏

Despite the cold and wet conditions, the girls turned up with fantastic enthusiasm and gave a great account of themselves against some well-established teams and some very good players.

With five teams taking part — three from Bredbury, Moorside and our own Denton West side — the competition was always going to be a tough test.

We finished 4th, winning one game and narrowly losing the other three, but the results really don't tell the full story. There were some tight finishes and some excellent cricket, with the girls competing strongly in every game.

Most importantly, everyone thoroughly enjoyed the experience, and it was a fantastic opportunity for the team to test themselves, learn and continue their development. 💪🏏

Congratulations to Bredbury Blazers, who were the eventual festival winners. 🏆

A huge thank you to Bredbury St Marks for hosting such a well-organised and enjoyable festival — and well done to our girls for showing continued improvement and plenty of promise.

This is just the beginning for Denton West Women’s Cricket… and there’s plenty more to come! 💙🏏
