Hi Everyone,

Yesterday Wain Estates put on Social Media a Consultation Plan for building 700 homes on the old 100 acres Swinton Park Golf Course. What they have proposed is a disgrace and they are conning everyone. They have refused walkers on that land during and after Covid and but now they want to reach out to the community for help in their building proposals. Don’t fall for it.

We have a lot of work too do starting now and we want the entire community surrounding Swinton Park and beyond to let Wain Estates know in no uncertain terms we will fight to the end. We need you to let the Council know your concerns and have a structured plan of action. To start with share and respond to this post to express what you think and let’s start the ball rolling now.

🚨Wain Estates consultation on Swinton Park Golf Course🚨

Wain Estates have JUST contacted local councillors to inform us of the launch of their public consultation on proposals for the former Swinton Park Golf Course!

They have informed us the plans are now available to view publicly, with consultation information being sent to around 2,500 households in the surrounding area “in due course”.

I have already made my position clear through my submission to Salford’s Local Plan consultation: I believe the golf course should be protected.

I will nevertheless look carefully at the detailed proposals and listen to residents’ views before forming any further view on what is being proposed.

If you live locally, I would encourage you to look at the plans and take part in the consultation. This is an important opportunity for residents to have their say about the future of the site.

I’ll share any further information I receive as the consultation progresses.

So, what is it that Wain Estates are consulting on?

🏠 Around 700 new homes on the former Swinton Park Golf Course, including “affordable” and family homes.

🌳 public open space, parks and play areas - within the development

⚽ sports and recreation facilities - within the development

🏡 An extra-care facility, community building, convenience store and mobility hub

Wain says it will be submitting an outline planning application later this year!

This is Wain Estates’ proposal — it has NOT been approved by Salford Council.
