Some studio rules & etiquette for safe training at Sirens πŸ§œβ€β™€οΈπŸ’ͺ

1. Arrive on time ⌚
Make sure to arrive with enough time to get settled, get changed if you need to and start class on time

2. Participate in the warm up and cool down πŸƒ
Warm ups are carefully curated to get your body and mind ready for your session & cool downs are there to reset your body, both decreasing your risk of injury. You must complete the warm up or you won't be able to take part. If there are specific movements you can't do or struggle with please let your instructor know so they can adjust for you 🫢

3. Follow the class plan πŸ“„
We spend a lot of time creating lesson plans to cover a range of key areas for each class - please don't go off script! If there's anything in particular you'd like to learn in class feel free to request these in advance & there's always playtime at the end where you're welcome to work on anything else you've learnt as long as it's safe & sensible

4. Avoid talking or using your phone during demos πŸ“±
We know it can be hard to stay focused but please avoid talking or using your phone during demos - it's super distracting & overstimulating for other students & the instructor & people could miss important safety information!

5. Don't teach each other! ❌
The instructor is the only person there qualified and insured to teach, we love our job so let us do it! 🫢 If you're unsure at all please do ask your instructor or if someone asks you how to do something ask your instructor to show them 🫢

6. Don't wear jewellery, zips or spikes for pole or aerial & don't moisturize before pole! πŸ’
Jewellery as well as zips or spikes can not just damage the (very expensive) equipment but puts you at risk of severe injury too! Please take off ALL jewellery before class & put it somewhere safe. For pole please don't apply any lotions, moisturizers or fake tan at least 24 hours before class as this makes the poles slippy & unsafe to use

7. Use matts & don't be afraid to ask for a spot πŸ«‚
Always use mats for anything your not 1000% secure in. Your instructor is always happy to spot you too - even if that's just standing nearby for moral support in case of emergency. Alwa

Happy World Pole Dance Day! πŸŒπŸ–€

And a reminder that you do NOT need to be strong/flexible/fit/confident/coordinated/whatever else to try pole, the only thing that matters is that you try πŸ–€
