Popped into this afternoon. I had some money on my Waterstones plus card to buy a book for summer reading. I couldn't resist PG Wodehouse's 'Blandings Castle' in the beautiful produced Everyman editions. Probably the funniest writer to grace the English language. What Ho !

Poem for the week is one of my favourite's by by the mystic Sufi poet Jelaluddin Rumi.,
Today Like Every Other Day.
Today, like every other day, we wake up empty
and frightened. Don't open the door of your study
and begin reading. Take down a musical instrument.
Let the beauty we love be what we do.
There are hundreds of ways to kneel and kiss the ground.

Dear Yoga Friends,
For me the teachings and practices of yoga and meditation allow me to live a more balanced, creative and authentic life. I will share with you how these practices can offer creative ways of working with your heart and mind in a busy and challenging world. We will explore a combination of flowing movement through a combination of circular and spiral patterns as well as a stilling-style practice, focusing on meditative practices, working with more subtle energetic aspects of our being.
I will also be introducing some meditation practices: (for calming & positive emotion). We will also explore our relationship to the nervous system. A regulated nervous system expands your capacity for creative thinking and expression. When your body feels safe, your brain shifts away from survival mode and opens up access to play, curiosity, and innovation
During this workshop we will build tools to support a robust and healthy, more regulated nervous system. We will also have an opportunity to explore the relaxing practice of Yoga Nidra. Yoga Nidra, often translated as "yogic sleep," is a powerful guided meditation technique that systematically induces complete physical, mental, and emotional relaxation while maintaining conscious awareness.
All workshops are kept small and intimate to allow for greater personal attention.
These workshops are held at The Didsbury Parsonage, a beautiful Grade II listed building set in a magical secret garden.

“Tell me, what is it you plan to do
with your one wild and precious life?”
Poem for the week is by the American poet Mary Oliver 'The Summer Day'. She won the Pulitzer Prize in 1984 and the National Book Award in 1992. Mary Oliver found inspiration for her work in nature and had a lifelong habit of solitary walks in the wild.

Poem for the week is called 'Ditty Of First Desire' by the Spanish poet Frederico García Lorca
In the green morning
I wanted to be a heart.
A heart.
And in the ripe evening
I wanted to be a nightingale.
A nightingale.
(Soul,
turn orange-colored.
Soul,
turn the color of love.)
In the vivid morning
I wanted to be myself.
A heart.
And at the evening's end
I wanted to be my voice.
A nightingale.
Soul,
turn orange-colored.
Soul,
turn the color of love.

Poem for the week is 'It Happens All The Time In Heaven' by the 14th-Century Persian poet Hafiz.
It happens all the time in heaven,
And some day
It will begin to happen
Again on earth –
That men and women who are married,
And men and men who are
Lovers,
And women and women
Who give each other
Light,
Often will get down on their knees
And while so tenderly
Holding their lover’s hand,
With tears in their eyes,
Will sincerely speak, saying,
“My dear,
How can I be more loving to you;
How can I be more
Kind?”
