What a busy day!

96 students graded in 3 different disciplines across 5 classes.

3 resits booked
4 probationary passes

6 incredibly exhausted instructors on the panel.

Not only that, a few of our lads took to the mats today to compete in BJJ. Gi and No Gi and have brought home 2 gold medals and 1 silver.

All those hours of training, practising, listening, learning and pushing yourself was leading to this.

Today our students get the chance to show just how far they’ve come 💪🏻

There might be nerves.
There’ll definitely be determination.

“It saved me when I couldn’t save myself” ❤️🥋

Meet Bianca …

When Bianca first joined Wythenshawe Black Belt Academy, she started with self defence. She never imagined where that first step would take her!

Today she’s training in Self Defence, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Kickboxing AND Muay Thai - something she says she never thought she’d be doing in a million years!

As with so many of our students WBBA has become about so much more than learning martial arts.

“It’s the best thing I ever did, joining the club. As the tattoo says, it has literally saved me. It really keeps me going. Not in a million years did I ever think I’d be doing any of that. Best thing to happen to me.”

And THAT is what martial arts can be ❤️

✔️ A positive outlet
✔️ A challenge
✔️ A community
✔️ Something that builds confidence and strength
✔️ And sometimes, something that comes into your life at exactly the time you need it!

Bianca even had the WBBA hands tattooed on her arm with the words that tell her story …
