This weekend was my first weekend with my current group of Svastha Yoga Therapy 300 hour students.

It was also my first weekend teaching at the amazing Northern Roots Urban Farm where I will be offering yoga and yoga therapy. I am so excited for this journey to begin after years of discussing possibilities and watching things grow.

This is more than just moving to a new venue, it is becoming part of an extraordinary community of people who are all passionate about connecting communities and creating opportunities for growth.

Integrating what I love into this project with some very special collaborators( more info to come) will be so invigorating and after an extremely bumpy year or so I am@looking forward to some inspiration!

The other great thing is it is just around the corner from my house so I will be able to walk to my sessions!

How do you want to feel? Do you sometimes feel overwhelmed, unable to shut off the constant thinking or just a bit out of sorts?
We all feel like this at times, we are humans and live in a very challenging world!

How can the ancient practices help? Just like the simplicity of this piece of art, we can have most effect when we pare things down, find some simple tools like observing the breath , chanting or simply combining breath and movement.

It doesn’t require loads of time or even very much space, but the effects are very noticeable and over time quite remarkable.

This beautiful piece of mindful art is part of a wonderful exhibition the Whitworth “Entangled and Woven”.

I just wanted to share this snapshot of joy from studying with the Mohans in 2020!

Here I am with my dear Svastha sisters Louise and Iris . We have known each other a long time.

Being part of this community has been amazing and we continue to stay connected , we will see each other again very soon and each time there is a reminder of how deep our relationship with yoga has become.

It’s woven into the fabric of all our lives in a pretty normal low key way! We aren’t paragons of virtue or holier than thou.
Just real humans with real life problems and personalities trying to get along. But having this community really helps when times are tough.

I hope that you may have that strength from community too

I have been getting back into my daily walks for balancing mental health and on Sunday I had loads of time to walk up to the park and all around it.

It was beautiful to experience that familiar autumn smell and the air felt different too.

The bold fox that stepped out ahead of me looked vibrantly orange and was a lovely surprise !

I miss it when I don’t get to walk regularly because seeing the daily changes is such a comfort.

The next two weeks are pretty non stop for me so my walks will be even more necessary!

I do hope that you are able to get out in the autumn air. It can be such a magical time of year.

Regardless of whether it’s in a park, in the countryside, your garden or a small outdoor space on a balcony, the wonders are still there to be enjoyed!

Today I received a beautiful houseplant through the post from one of my students who I have known for many years and who I mentored for a teaching qualification.

There was a beautiful thank you message which I found so moving.

As a teacher you don’t always know how far reaching what you do can be. So on the rare occasions something lovely like his occurs it is a wonderful inspiration .

Teaching with integrity is its own reward for sure but how wonderful it feels to have appreciation like this

I am busy preparing for module 1 of the Svastha Yoga Therapy 300 hours training.i was looking for some notes and ended up having a tidy of all my notebooks.

And then I thought about all of the hours of study and training and all the concepts and practices I have learned about and how it gets condensed down into real life practice and experience.
