Buxton - Nationals Championship - 9.8.26
The first race of the day was the nationals championship. Alex had qualified on 3rd row inside. He managed to avoid the first lap crashes and was re-gridded to P5 for the complete restart. After some good battles throughout the whole race, Alex brought it home in 9th place
Heat 1 was up next so Alex took his chance to start pole yellow top and got out early to make sure of the front of grade start. An early yellow flag allowed the other grades to reel a little bit closer but Alex held his own and came home in 5th
Heat 2 next and it was a bit more of a stock car race. Alex was running in 6th until the last bend when he was reeled in by 2 red tops who gave him a good pot to sneak up the inside and put him down to 8th
Grand National time now. Again Alex got away but an early contact on lap 4 punctured the outside rear. Despite this, Alex kept his hope of grade award and a few more points alive by keeping going and came home in 13th
Didn’t come home with grade award as he was pipped to it by 2 points. However, a very very good day. Time to give the car a good check over now before the brutal Thursday night at Skegness on the bank holiday weekend.
Thanks to everyone that makes it possible, Dad and Steve on the spanners, all the good luck messages on race day and all the sponsors that keep the fluids topped up and wheels turning.

Day 1 of the Lochgelly Raceway - HRP double header.
Heat 1 - DNF - Went skywards over the back of another car coming out of turn 2 before being collected by the next car to come out of the corner.
Heat 2 - 21st - After around 3 laps, the car clearly only had 1x drive wheel so Alex kept it facing the right direction and limped it home in 21st. This was a snapped half shaft from the impact in H1 but we didn’t discover it until it was too late.
Scottish Championship - 14th - Everything was starting to click into place after starting from the penultimate row.
Grand National - 15th - An early yellow flag bunched the pack up when Alex was running 3rd and reeling in the white tops. Been dealing with a bounce all day but got stuck into the traffic and stayed out of trouble for the rest of the race.
More of the same tomorrow and chance to improve some places on the grid of the European Championship.
Huge thanks to George, Liam and Chef Donald for coming along today!

I promise we did spend at least some time going the right way around the Skegness Raceway - stadium track!
Last time out was a World Qualifier, East Coast and Tarmac Boss round.
As the day went on, Alex continued to feel faster in the car but finishing races and picking up points became the main aim.
Alex managed 19th, 18th and 28th in the 3 heats and 24th in the Pops Rogers shield.
We go again this weekend for the first speed weekend of July at Buxton Raceway before making the trip to Lochgelly Raceway - HRP 🏴 at the end of July
Huge thanks to all of the people and businesses that keep up moving forward.
