Congratulations to our Ladies teams who have qualified for the 125 semi final to be held at Greenmount GC this Friday, & our Fairways H’cap Shield team are in the finals to be held at Chorley GC in September.

Good evening! The Junior Team were out on the course tonight, once again proudly representing Ellesmere. They were competing in the Quarter Finals of the BMW MDGA v Eaton at Home. Find out how it went in Pete’s Match Report below.

Match Report:
A chilly breeze, an early sunset, and a golf course starting to show a little more green may mark the end of summer and the first flush of Autumn, but it also means we’re getting to the sharper end of the matchplay season. The boys from Eaton made the hour long journey, both yesterday for a practice round, and again today for a match against our boys in blue. Although Eaton all made a strong start with their players peppering the pin on the first, their early leads in all the matches were soon overturned as the Ellesmere team got to the turn in a strong position.

In Match 1, Jack led the team out and in a close game when he was two down after two, he played his way back into the match and turned the screw at the right time to complete a 2&1 victory.

In Match 2, Will put his new clubs to a good use and dominated his game to win 4&3.

In Match 3, Junior Captain George Styles was one down early but won holes 4,5,6,7,8,9 and by shaking hands on the 14th green he secured a 5&4 victory.

In Match 4, Olly played strong opposition, but solid golf around the turn gave him a lead that he never relinquished and a 3&2 victory was secured.

In the anchor match, Theo Elhalhuli, playing off one against his scratch opposition, traded nine birdies between them in 15 holes before they were called off the golf course all square on the 16th tee.

Ellesmere achieved a 4.5 to 0.5 victory as they stride proudly into the Semi Finals.

The Ellesmere Juniors were excellent as usual out on the course today and enjoyed their rounds competing for the Styles Cup.

The Winner of the 18 Hole competition was Will Cheadle with 38 points, 2nd Joel Taylor, 3rd Benji Humble, 4th Jack Currie, Subsidiary Nick Kalis.

The 9 Hole competition was won by Lucas O’Donnell with 21 points, 2nd Teddy Carter, 3rd Will Francis.
Nearest the Pin on the 9th was Teddy Carter. Congratulations to all players 👏🏻 Hope you liked your treats and sweets today.

The Ellesmere Junior team are in the BMW MDGA Quarter Final on 21st August so Good Luck. Next main comp is the Texas Scramble on 20th September followed by complimentary Pizza and Chips and the Presentation evening, see you all then, thanks Clare and Pete ⛳️
