In memory of Andy Smith | OISĂN GAA Manchester 08/07/2026

The Lancashire county board wishes to pay our respects to Andy Smith. Our thoughts go out to his wife Carolyn and family at this very sad time.

Andy was a stalwart of OisĂn GAA Manchester over a long period of time serving recently as Chairperson and 2026 Club President.

He oversaw a significant amount of success with the club, who won 4 Lancashire SFCs titles in a row (2017-2020).

Oisin’s grounds at Old Bedians which were always presented in magnificent condition was acknowledged on many football and hurling championship final days, Andy was a driving force behind this.

It was wonderful to see Andy recently at the Northern Games at our new pitch development at Broughton Park. Andy was also an integral member of original committee for the new county grounds which laid the foundations for what we have today.

Oisins have written an excellent piece on there website in his memory titled “A Lasting Oisin’s legacy’.

At CAMIDA, we believe strong communities are built through opportunity, teamwork and shared experiences. That's why we were incredibly proud to support Lancashire GAA as sponsors of The Northern Games, a fantastic celebration of Gaelic games that brought together more than 2,000 young players from across the region.

Over two unforgettable days, the event showcased not only sporting talent, but also the dedication of the coaches, volunteers, referees, parents and organisers who made it all possible. The energy, enthusiasm and community spirit on display truly reflected the values that grassroots sport inspires.

For our Manchester office, this was the largest community initiative we have supported to date and another important milestone in CAMIDA's commitment to giving back to the communities where we live and work. Alongside our long-standing community involvement in Clonmel, we are proud to support initiatives that encourage young people, promote teamwork and create a lasting positive impact.

We would like to extend our sincere thanks to Lancashire GAA, Britain GAA and everyone involved in delivering such a memorable event. Most importantly, congratulations to every young player who took part and made the weekend so special.

We are proud to have been part of this incredible occasion and look forward to continuing to support the communities around our Manchester and Clonmel offices for many years to come.

Very best of luck to our U15 team, who are currently en route to Derry for the John West FĂ©ile Peile na nÓg. The lads have been training hard over the past few months, and will test themselves against opposition from Derry and Kilkenny in the group stages.

Thanks to UIS - Utility Innovations Solutions Limited for their generous sponsorship of kit bags and boot bags for the boys.

On Sunday, the lads will then head to Croke Park to watch the All-Ireland Quarter finals and support John Mitchels GAA Liverpool whose U11s will be playing at half time in the Monaghan v Louth Game.
