We’re delighted to have Alfie as part of the Tyldesley RUFC team.

From day one, Alfie has created a professional and welcoming environment, becoming a valued member of our coaching and support staff. His knowledge, dedication and genuine care for the players have played a huge role in keeping the squad fit, healthy and performing at their best throughout the season.

Always approachable, reliable and willing to go the extra mile, we’re incredibly grateful for everything he brings to the club. We look forward to continuing our partnership throughout the 2026/27 season.

We asked Alfie about his time at Tyldesley RUFC, and here’s what he had to say:

“I’ve loved my time working at Tyldesley RUFC. There is a great environment at the club where everybody makes you feel welcome! Working collaboratively with the coaching staff, players and everyone behind the scenes to ensure safety and fitness for the whole team, all working together to achieve one goal – winning on the pitch! Looking forward to the 26/27 season at this great club! A massive thank you to everyone at the club for putting their trust in me and making me feel a part of the team!”

We’re excited to have you back for another season, Alfie! 💙🖤

🔵⚪ Tyldesley RUFC are delighted to announce Ben Devlin as our new 1st Team Manager and Chris Plimley as our new 2nd Team Manager.

Two proud Tyldesley men with a wealth of experience and a genuine passion for the club!

We asked both to share what their appointments mean to them:

Ben Devlin:

“After 25 years of playing, it’s time to step away. After the last three seasons as player-manager of the 2nd team, it seemed like the perfect time to hang up the boots and take on the role of 1st Team Manager.”

Chris Plimley:

“I’m really happy to be back involved with the 2nd team this season.

Hopefully I can inspire the group to understand what it means to play for this club and, together with Tom, we can develop the next generation of Tyldesley players.”

Congratulations, Ben and Chris. We can’t wait to see what lies ahead for both teams.

Up The Bongs! 🔵⚪

The new season is just around the corner, and it’s time to get the club looking its best! 💙

We’re asking all players, members and supporters to come down and lend a hand at our annual Working Party. Whether it’s painting, tidying, cleaning or general maintenance, every pair of hands makes a huge difference.

🍔 Food will be provided once the work is done.
🏉 We’ll then settle in together to watch Magic Weekend.

See you there – Up The Bongs! 💙

Following the popular appointment of Malc Wilson as Head Coach, we are delighted to announce he will be supported by two more Tyldesley lads.

Former 1XV captain Tom Egerton will take charge of the forwards while also leading the development of the second team. Meanwhile, ever-present club legend Paul Martin will take the reins of the backs.

We asked both to share what the appointments mean to them:

Tom Egerton:
“Buzzing to be involved for the season ahead and to work alongside Malc and Paul.

I’ll be assisting with the forwards, with a big focus on creating a clear pathway for our young second-team lads to develop and step up into first-team rugby when they’re ready.

Looking forward to getting started and seeing what we can achieve this season.”

Paul Martin:
“30+ years as a player. Now it’s time to give back from the sidelines. Proud to be Assistant Coach and excited for what’s ahead. Up The Bongs! 💙🤍”

Congratulations and good luck, lads!
