🏆 Special Recognition: Anne Wignall

Some names simply belong with a sport, and in Lancashire netball, Anne and netball are inseparable. Say one, and the other naturally follows 💙

Over more than 25 years of service to netball, Anne has made a sustained and meaningful impact across club, county, regional and national contexts. From player to coach, from chair to a well earned retirement, Anne's contribution has been lifelong, consistent and deeply influential. Even now, she continues to live and love the game, remaining a passionate advocate for netball and its people.

A Lancashire lass through and through, county netball has always been where Anne's heart lies. But it's long been evident that Anne understands and values the wider regional and national picture too. This ability to see the sport holistically, balancing local needs with national direction, has shaped decision making, standards and long term development within Lancashire Netball 🙌

🏆 Special Recognition: Estelle Graham

Estelle has been a stalwart of Cheshire netball for the past 30 years and is synonymous with all things great about the county 💙

She's been an active member of the NW RMB for over 20 years, overseeing the growth and structure of regional competition, now encompassing 5 divisions and over 62 teams. And she's not just working behind the scenes: Estelle is also a very active B umpire, and is affectionately known as "Stelly on the tele" for her time as
Team Manager for Manchester Thunder and as a bench official at numerous Super League and England Netball fixtures 🙌

Her leadership across county, region and nationally has been nothing short of exceptional.

🏆 Special Recognition: Gill Walker

For nearly three decades, Gill has been the driving force behind the growth and success of netball in Blackpool and across Lancashire 💙

Her impact is both measurable and deeply personal. Gill has constructed a complete pathway system, driven by strong innovation and extensive mentoring of over 20 qualified coaches, creating a lasting legacy and a truly generational impact on the Lancashire and wider netball family.

Operationally, Gill manages the full infrastructure of a thriving club: membership, competition entry, funding, sponsorship, workforce planning and facility management, all of it. Her work has helped drive Blackpool Netball Club's rise to become Lancashire's first National Premier club 🙌

🏆 Outstanding Contribution: Fiona Cummins

Fiona is the heartbeat of Flava Netball and a pillar of the Greater Manchester netball community, and as Treasurer of the NW RMB, the wider NW netball family too 💙

Her influence across the club reflects an unwavering commitment to leadership, coaching and administration, underpinned by genuine care for every individual.

Balancing multiple roles with grace, she provides constant strength, guidance and encouragement, supporting players both athletically and personally.

Fiona leads with integrity, compassion and purpose, consistently going above and beyond to create an environment where women feel valued, empowered and inspired. Her passion for the game leaves a profound and lasting impact 🙌

🏆 Outstanding Contribution: Hannah Potter

Hannah has consistently gone above and beyond her formal officiating responsibilities to create lasting change within the Merseyside netball community 💙

Rather than accepting stagnant umpire numbers and limited development opportunities, Hannah took it upon herself to design and deliver practical umpire workshops, giving aspiring officials hands-on experience in a supportive, inclusive environment.

What makes her truly stand out is her ability to combine passion, leadership and genuine care for people. Hannah doesn't just fulfil the responsibilities of her role, she actively looks for gaps, identifies challenges, and creates solutions that support and inspire others. Quite simply, she has rebuilt the culture of officiating across Merseyside 🙌

And the icing on the cake? Hannah was recently crowned Best Umpire in the Liverpool League 25/26 🏅

🏆 Outstanding Contribution: Rita Dixon

With over 30 years at Trafford Netball Club, it's true to say Rita is something of an institution, known and loved right across the NW netball family 💙

From Back to Netball through to her many performance squads at Trafford, Rita dedicates literally every waking moment to her love of the game. Her reach is vast: umpiring at Priestley College, coaching and umpiring at Manchester High School for Girls, umpiring at National Schools tournaments, and supporting grassroots netball and player development at Bury Netball.

Rita's no-nonsense approach is respected and admired by everyone lucky enough to have her as a coach, colleague, mentor or friend. And her impact is truly multi-generational, along the way, Rita has played netball with her sister, her daughter, her niece and two granddaughters 🙌

Her approach to coaching is best summed up by the words written in her nomination, echoing Nelson Mandela: she doesn't lose, she either wins or learns.

🏆 Outstanding Contribution: Christine Blundell

Having been involved in netball for over 35 years, first as a player, then umpire and now Head Coach, Christine is the lifeblood of Tyldesley Netball Club 💙

She's been instrumental in driving forward the club's Back to Netball programme and has created sessions for those a little older too, encouraging inactive women to get moving and even play inter-generationally alongside their daughters! A brilliant, much-needed initiative that's engaged more than 75 local women and girls, with at least 60% going on to join local Back to Netball leagues.

Christine's approach to coaching is truly holistic. She encourages players to be aware of their bodies and minds, with wellbeing at the heart of everything, from arranging 'pink' nights for breast cancer fundraising to bringing in specialists to engage with players and parents. She's also helped players understand the impact of their words and actions on one another, building a culture of encouragement over criticism.

Through this work, the club has become more of a family, always striving to get the best out of every player, holistically 🙌

Christine truly is a role model to so many, and a real credit to the club.
