What a sizzler…on and off the course for Lady Captain’s Day ! Sue Denford put on a great show with a delightful halfway house table of delicious confections PLUS a glass of delightful Pimms.
Night-time was just as good with a well-received dinner and dancing as the Ladies turned up in their finery.

Work began on Monday to remove the large diseased tree seen in the first picture but progress was halted when it was discovered that it was home to a nesting resident! Work will now be delayed until August when, hopefully, the youngsters will have left home. The contractors are now working on the 14th to remove a storm damaged willow.

Lady Captain Sue Denford had “sore feet and ached” after Northern Wanderers did a 10-mile walk to raise money for her chosen charity Dementia UK. Thanks to the generosity of the hundreds of walkers, £2,823 was raised.

Another fantastic, successful day for the Norton Barry Classic at Northenden. Host Blake and his army of loyal helpers, including sons Cruz and Rocco, set up another super memorial in honour of the late, great, Barry Norton who was a celebrated member of NGC. Superb organisation and catering again meant the total passed on to The Christie Hospital is now around £200,000 since its inception. Blake would like to thank everyone who participated in the annual event that keeps it as a must on the golfing calendar.
