When our Girls went to London!!!

Congratulations to Lisa and Aimee who won our Club places and represented Belle Vue at the 2026 London Marathon 🙌🇬🇧

What a year to have taken part! Sebastian Sawe broke 2 hours and also broke the Marathon world record! Tigst Assefa also set a new women's-only world record!

Lisa and Aimee, following in their rather fast footsteps became record breakers too!! The 2026 London Marathon now holds the World record for the largest number of finishers in a Marathon.

They had a wonderful weekend and celebrated in style with a few over priced pints opppsite Number 10 🍻

Congratulations both of you we are very proud of you!!

Massive thanks again to our Club members who organised, promoted and marshalled the event!! We literallly couldnt do it without you!

♣️Race will start 6th May 2026 at 7:30pm. The race will start 300metres into the bottom path from Tiviot Way Car Park, Tiviot Way, Stockport, SK5 7QP. 

 
♣️Please note, you need to collect your number from Reddish Working Men's Club, Gregg Street, Reddish SK5 7LN. There is around a 15 min walk from the club to the start. Numbers can be collected from 6.15 pm

♣️BVR put this race on to support both Greenspace and our community based athletics club (BVR). Greenspace Stockport is a community group, which supports management of Reddish Vale, so that members of the public can enjoy a community green space. BVR is a community based athletic club, encouraging participation in sports. Around 50-60% of any potential income is spent on putting the event on, if you turn up or not. Hence, we DO NOT give refunds or defer entries. If you can't run or gift someone your entry, you can at least be happy that your money is going to support 2 community causes.

 

♣️Entries can be transferred  on the day at registration

 

♣️Previous course records will not stand for this course.

 

♣️The course is currently mainly dry, however trail or running shoes with an excellent grip are recommended. There are parts of the course which cover trails, paths and cobbles, including fast downhill sections.  The course is NOT suitable for spikes.

Our Jay ran Brighton Marathon on the 12th April then ran....yes ran back to Manchester to complete the Manchester Marathon!!

His epic journey lasted 8 days and covered excess of 280 miles💪💪 You can still donate through his Just Giving page below
