An unfortunate end to my English PGA championship, missed cut. I felt prepared and in a decent place however didn’t score well. I received some bad breaks, accumulated some penalty stokes with what I thought were good swings and lines, and struggled to adapt to a parkland course playing like a links. Not playing the course before the event was probably not advisable. Felt like anything that could go wrong did. I even showed up at the wrong tee box on first round. All just excuses, I didn’t have it and the score represented that.
The positive was that I was there, I got to play with former winners and I know I have the game in there. I will contend next year! The weather is beautiful and dispute not having much to play in I hope everyone is out playing golf and enjoying it.
I am going to host regular hours again to Moreton and Regent Park. I hope to see you all out practicing and playing. Let’s make this year our best year for the golf game.

Today is Round 1 of the English PGA Championship. The course looks amazing and the atmosphere is electric. Looking forward to my tee time at 2:30. Looking to test my game against the best PGA Professionals in England.
Wish I had more time to prep but sometimes ignorance is bliss when playing a course for the first time...

Disappointing end to my Open Qualifying. I stumbled out he gate, got some strokes back, got some bad breaks , and just couldn't get it going. Pushed hard to force some birdies and it backfired.
Now I can turn my focus on English PGA Championship in July. Hopefully, keep the momentum and get inspired to play my best golf soon.
I love playing in this event. They do a great job, the course was difficult and fair. They did slow the greens down significantly from last year, was a little bit of a curve ball. Understandable after it was almost unplayable year prior. Wish I played the way I know I could.
I will take it as a learning experience. It was good to get out there and test the game against a strong field of accomplished players. It has given me the spark to keep playing and enjoying the competitive aspect of the game.
Thanks for all the people that came out to watch and sent their support.

Doing my best to enjoy the decent weather and playing some more golf. I Qualified for the English PGA at Preston Golf Club on Wednesday. Unfortunately, it will conflict with the actual Open Championship if I could get through. Got to get through stage one on Monday at Cady Golf Club first. Looking forward to get some redemption after missing by one last year.

I’m also making it a goal to play more competitive golf this season. Through some self-reflection, I’ve realized there are areas of my own game that need work and improvement as well.
My goals this year are to compete more in PGA events and work toward qualifying for The Open Championship. Big goals like these aren’t achieved all at once — they come from improving the small details, solving one piece at a time, and setting intermediate goals along the way.
After my last round, there were definitely too many big numbers on the scorecard. But that’s part of the process. I’ll analyse the mistakes, learn from them, and continue moving forward with the goal of being better in the next event.
That same mindset is something I try to share with my students. Improvement in golf is rarely one big change — it’s consistent work, honest evaluation, and building confidence step by step.

First round of 2026! Out with some students of the game. Everyone has the New Year’s resolution to play better and more golf this season, including me. We probably forced it a bit with the weather, but it was good just to get out there. Let’s transform our game and get even more enjoyment from playing golf this year.
