Gold members of the ECF are entitled to elect four ECF members to represent their interests on the ECF Council. This year there are seven candidates for those positions, so an election is needed. The seven candidates are (in alphabetical order) -

Voting will remain open until 5.00pm on Sunday 26th July 2026. I expect to announce the successful candidates on the ECF website soon afterwards.

Standing for election does take some nerve, and few people are ready to put themselves forward, so to minimise any embarrassment it has been decided not to publish the number of votes given to individual candidates. We believe that this will help to encourage participation.

Tonight we welcomed Swinton & Worsley’s 3rd team in the Summer League.

We went 1–0 down when Kieran Moore accidentally fell into his opponent’s sac line around 8pm. Michael hit back straight away with a win on board 4, and about ten minutes later Dave Newell secured another victory on top board.

We had to wait until around 10pm for the final result — Josh Davies sealed the win, giving us our first victory of the Summer League season.

Great win for our Stockport league team against Eccles 2nd team

Their board 3 no show but great win from Andreas, Josh and an tactical draw on board 2 from rob to give us our 1st win in the Stockport league

Last night our 2nd team was away to Bolton 4 in the league

We did lose 3.5-2.5 but great win for captain Mark Davis. Draw from draw master John reyes, Elliott Barnett and Joshua Davies. Unlucky for Srikrish and Matthew playing higher graded opponents
