π¨ποΈ Wayne Rooney on Liverpool drawing their last two Premier League games:
π£οΈ βImagine if it was Manchester United that drew two Premier League games back-to-back.
People would already be calling it a crisis and saying the season is over. π
But the truth is, many clubs donβt usually get everything right at the beginning of the season, while some teams that start brilliantly can easily drop form later on.
Thatβs why I never like judging a team too early.
Liverpool have drawn two games in a row, but the season is still very long. Just like United, they have plenty of time to improve and find their rhythm.
Football isnβt won in the first few weeks of the season.β π

Ayden Heaven is only 19, started Manchester Unitedβs opening game and has been one of the most trusted centre-backs throughout pre-season.
One difficult match against McBurnie shouldnβt erase everything he has shown.
With De Ligt still unavailable and United yet to bring in another centre-back, Heaven is going to be an important part of the squad.
Young defenders will not always deliver top performances. Thatβs part of development.
If we expect young players to be flawless immediately, then weβre not really giving them the opportunity to develop in the first place.

A credible Arsenal source has confirmed that Manchester United made another inquiry last evening concerning the availability of Myles Lewis-Skelly.
The response was that Arsenal will only consider a sale at a premium valuation.

We actually have some interesting midfield combinations.
Mainoo is the strongest all-round midfielder, with Santos potentially being the ideal partner alongside him.
Tielemans offers the best passing range in the squad, while Balebaβs athleticism and defensive coverage could give Mainoo more freedom to influence the game.
The beauty is that Santos and Baleba are both versatile enough to complement different profiles.
Mainoo + Santos.
Tielemans + Baleba.
Mainoo + Baleba.
Tielemans + Santos.
There are several combinations that could work. The challenge for Carrick is finding the right balance and getting the best out of each player.

You might not agree with me, but I would rather see Patrick Dorgu start against Michael Olise than Luke Shaw when Manchester United face Bayern Munich in the Champions League.
Shaw simply didn't have his best game against Hull, with his positioning coming under criticism as United conceded twice from set pieces in the 2-0 defeat.
Dorgu may still be developing, but his pace, physicality and ability to recover quickly make him a more interesting option against a player like Olise.
Olise loves receiving in wide areas before cutting inside, so I would rather have Dorgu's athleticism dealing with that threat than ask Shaw to handle it after what we saw at Hull.
And this isn't exactly a quiet Bayern attack either, with Harry Kane and Luis DΓaz also waiting to make life difficult.
Basically, Iβm asking Dorgu to put Olise in his pocket, lock it, and throw the key somewhere in Munich. ππ

Rio Ferdinand tells Manchester United fans to STOP comparing this team to the Ferguson era:
βThe standards have dropped.β
βSo stop judging us and comparing us to yesteryear teams, 15, 20 years ago, because weβre not there right now.
βWeβre trying to get back there. Weβre trying to build towards that, but you have to judge this team for where they are now and what theyβre trying to become.β

Gabriel Heinze joined Manchester United in 2004 and quickly became a fan favourite.
But when Patrice Evra arrived, Heinzeβs place in the team became less secure.
In 2007, Heinze wanted to leave β and he specifically wanted to join Liverpool. π³
United refused to sell him to their biggest rivals.
Heinze claimed United had given him written permission to leave if another club met their valuation, and Liverpool reportedly offered around Β£6.8 million.
Then things got VERY serious. π
Heinze brought in a solicitor connected to Liverpool to help challenge Unitedβs decision, and the dispute eventually went before a Premier League arbitration panel.
The panel ruled in Unitedβs favour, stating that the disputed letter did not oblige the club to sell Heinze to a particular club.
Sir Alex Ferguson was furious and later suggested Heinze had received poor advice from his agents.
The Liverpool situation also added fuel to the already intense rivalry between Ferguson and Rafael BenΓtez. π₯
In the end, Heinze never joined Liverpool.
Instead, he left Manchester United for Real Madrid. πͺπΈ
And here's the twistβ¦
Years later, Heinze admitted that he regretted the way he handled the situation, describing the episode involving Ferguson as one of his career regrets.

If you ever watched Arjen Robben at Bayern Munich, youβll know exactly what I mean when I say Shea Lacey has that same kind of profile.
The pace, the close control, the ability to cut inside and take defenders on β Shea has all the ingredients.
Give him time and Shea Lacey is going to terrorise defenders.
