A new month, stepping out of the summer holiday mindset (whether you have kids or not we can all be found thinking this!, a new week (because apparently bank holiday Monday doesn’t count) and suddenly the urge to reset, start again all comes flooding back….

This start stop to your habits, your lifestyle, this all or nothing thinking is where the struggles lie, where the guilt creeps in, where we start to feel rubbish about what we do.

But what if we just accept the moment, the memories and are grateful for it. We can’t go back in time (no sci-fi moments here - more romanticising the summer we’ve had) and we move on. We carry on without compensating. We carry on with our goals and creating habits and living accordingly with our goals and our values (which will include a little bit of everything because life is for living and enjoying the silly extra moments!) and we know we haven’t ruined anything.

We’ve lived our lives in balance, and maybe the balance isn’t as balance as we’d like but we accept it, shift it back - not compensate it, don’t just continue to press the f it button and think what’s the point and you do not need to make up for it!!

So maybe save this for the next f it moment and remind yourself it’s ok, just crack on as you did before and no need to over do it too! Save for your imperfect balanced reminder ✨

A reminder think bank holiday and all year round we are not demonising our bodies but easier said than done!

A come rain or shine here’s some reminders for you!!

We are enjoying ourselves and realising that no body cares and no body is watching.

SO SOME REMINDERS…

1. You don’t need to cover up if you don’t want to! You can wear whatever you want, wear a bikini, wear a baggy T, it’s probably not cold enough for a woolly jumper by why not if you want to!! We need to stop demonising real human bodies and wear whatever we want if we like the clothing item that’s what matters!!

2. Rest is productive. Lay on the beach with a book, get that vitamin d and have an ice cream or stay inside with your fave Netflix show - hit me up with your Rom com recs please and I can always return the favour!!

3. Exercise for enjoyment! Stop punishing yourself and exercise in ways you actually enjoy. Morning walks, a little run along the beach, hide from the rain in the gym, get the rusty bike out of your shed and go on a cycle…

4. Wear your SPF… don’t be like me and forget your suncream the day before a shoot 🫣

I spent years being belittled at dance college for my size and I don’t want anyone to feel the way that I did!!

It’s why I love training women. I understand the years of pressure we’ve all had from society to shrink, our often difficult relationship with food and that we’ve all at some point been told not to get ‘too bulky’. It’s all such bu****it.

My dance teachers told me I’d never get anywhere if I couldn’t run a 10k, but jokes on them - I’ve now run half marathons for fun (and have actually fuelled properly for!!) AND helped women heal their own relationships with food and the gym.

Dm me “dance” if you want to chat about how I can help you overcome that lingering voice in your head to break free and feel confident in your body and what you do✨

A wonderful week down by the sea for my reformer training but let me honest with you. I was nervous and so much self doubt before hand.

I was worried that especially with the Pilates princess side of instagram that I’d be the odd one out - that I wouldn’t fit in.

That I wouldn’t “look” the part. I wouldn’t be strong enough. I wouldn’t be aesthetic enough. The social media fear pretty much got to me - which is something with fitness coaching I encourage others to not let hang over them.

Our bodies, our personalities - who we are is worthy for all types of fitness and this week was that reminder I needed. Was a challenge and step outside of the comfort zone but equally instilled and remained me thar whilst athletic instagram content can be fun and cute that, Pilates, all types of fitness is much more than that.

We don’t need to look or be a certain way for Pilates for any types of fitness.

And anyone who knows me, knows I love learning, finding out more, the intricate details and this week was exactly that! Whilst it’s been challenge and my brain full, I also feel more energised, a spark has returned that’s been lost over a challenging 2 months.

I also love being by the sea so the environment was so calming and exactly what I needed, beach walks every day, moments of breath & stillness in the sauna and all the movement with a wonderful group all learning together was the best!

So let this be your reminder your body is always good enough and worthy to do whatever you want. There is no right or wrong.
