Why are our Mixed Ability and Intermediate Pilates classes locked? đź”’

Because at Skyline Pilates, class levels aren’t simply labels — they’re part of how we protect the quality of your experience and progression.

Every body moves differently, and Pilates should progress with purpose, not simply because an exercise looks more advanced.

That’s why our Mixed Ability and Intermediate classes are reserved for clients with the appropriate experience. It allows us to maintain the level, progression and teaching standards within each class, while giving clients the guidance and corrections they need.

As a STOTT-certified Pilates instructor, my teaching focuses on biomechanics, technique, breathwork, control and movement quality.

We’re not interested in following trends for the sake of them. We want to stay true to the principles and purpose of Pilates, while adapting the work to the individual.

Because Pilates isn’t about doing more.

It’s about understanding what you’re doing, how you’re doing it — and why.

Pilates is not just about doing the exercise — it’s about how you move through it. ✨

Every movement on the Reformer gives you an opportunity to improve your body awareness, control, coordination and connection.

When you slow things down and pay attention to your alignment, breath and movement, you begin to notice the small details — where you’re holding tension, which muscles are working and how your body moves as a whole.

This is one of the things I love most about Pilates. After more than 15 years of teaching, I still believe the real benefit comes from learning to move with greater awareness and intention — not simply completing an exercise.

Move with control.
Move with purpose.
Move with awareness.

And take that connection with you far beyond the Reformer.

Join us at Skyline Pilates and feel the difference.

Have you ever wondered what we focus on when we teach Pilates?

At Skyline Pilates, our focus is on quality movement, technique, breathwork and control, with individual guidance and corrections throughout your sessions.

Pilates is about much more than simply completing exercises. It’s about understanding how you move and why each movement has a purpose.

After more than 15 years of teaching Pilates as a STOTT-certified Pilates instructor, I’ve learnt that every body moves differently. That’s why individual guidance, appropriate corrections and purposeful progression are such important parts of how I teach.

At Skyline Pilates in Tenterden, our small-group Reformer Pilates and Mat Pilates classes allow us to focus on the person in front of us — helping you move with greater precision, control, confidence and awareness.

Because Pilates isn’t just about what you do.

It’s about how — and why — you do it.

At Skyline Pilates, we believe Reformer Pilates is about much more than simply moving through a series of exercises.

It’s about how your body moves — your alignment, control, breathing, biomechanics and the quality of every movement.

With over 15 years of Pilates teaching experience, Gina uses her STOTT Pilates training and understanding of anatomy and biomechanics to help clients move with greater awareness, strength and confidence.

Because every body moves differently, we don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all approach. We focus on precise movement, individual corrections and helping you understand what you’re doing — and why.

That’s what we do at Skyline Pilates in Tenterden, Kent.

Experience the difference.

Think your core is just your abs? There’s much more to it.

Your core is a coordinated system of muscles around your trunk and pelvis that works together to support breathing, stability, posture and movement.

At Skyline Pilates in Tenterden, our approach to core strength goes beyond simply “working the abs”.

As a STOTT-certified Pilates instructor, I focus on:

• Biomechanics
• Breathwork
• Control and alignment
• Stability
• Purposeful, functional movement

Because good Pilates isn’t about doing more repetitions — it’s about helping your body move and work better as a whole.

Whether you’re trying to build strength, improve control or simply feel more confident in everyday movement, developing your core is about much more than getting stronger abs.

That’s what we focus on at Skyline Pilates.

Come and experience the difference.

Why do I feel tight even when I stretch?

It’s a question I hear regularly as a Pilates instructor.

Feeling tight doesn’t automatically mean an area simply needs more stretching.

Strength, stability, mobility, movement habits and control can all influence how we move and what we feel.

With over 15 years of Pilates teaching experience and as a STOTT-certified Pilates instructor, I believe it’s important to look beyond the symptom and understand how the body is moving as a whole.

If you’re ready to move better, come and join us at Skyline Pilates in Tenterden.

I’ve explored this in my latest article:

“Why Do I Feel Tight Even When I Stretch?”

After more than 15 years of teaching Pilates, one thing has never changed…

Every body moves differently.

That’s why I don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all approach or simply working through a list of random exercises.

At Skyline Pilates, every session focuses on technique, biomechanics, breathwork, movement quality and purposeful progression. Through individual guidance and corrections, I want every client to understand not just what they’re doing, but why they’re doing it.

Because Pilates wasn’t designed to be a collection of random exercises.

It was designed to help people move with greater quality, control and confidence.

Growing older doesn’t mean lowering your standards or expectations.

It means choosing the right Pilates class for you.

Our Active Ageing Reformer Pilates classes are limited to just six participants, allowing more individual guidance, movement observation and confidence-building throughout every session. Message us to know more.

Designed for older adults, people returning to exercise after a break, and anyone who prefers a gentler, more supported approach, each class helps you build strength, improve balance and move with greater confidence.

I’m Gina Vats, a STOTT-certified Pilates instructor with over 15 years of Pilates teaching experience, and I believe Pilates isn’t about simply copying exercises or following trends—it’s about understanding why you move, moving with precision, and receiving expert guidance every step of the way.

✨ We’d love to welcome you to Skyline Pilates in Tenterden.

Feeling tight, stiff or achy?

The area that feels tight is not always the area that needs more stretching. Sometimes a muscle may be working harder to compensate for reduced stability, alignment or movement control elsewhere.

That is why your Pilates instructor’s education matters. Recognised Pilates training methods such as STOTT Pilates, BASI, Body Control, APPI and Polestar teach instructors extensively to consider anatomy, biomechanics, movement patterns and appropriate exercise modifications.

At Skyline Pilates in Tenterden, our small-group classes are taught by Gina Vats, a STOTT-certified Pilates instructor with over 15 years of Pilates teaching experience.

Join us and learn to move with greater control, strength and confidence—not simply chase temporary relief.

Before choosing a Pilates class, it is worth asking three simple questions.

1. Who is teaching the class, and what training do they have?

2. How many people are in each class?

3. Can the exercises be adapted to suit your body, experience and goals?

These three questions will tell you far more about the quality of your Pilates experience than the timetable or the price.

At Skyline Pilates in Tenterden, our Reformer and Mat Pilates classes are intentionally kept small, with a maximum of eight people, so you receive individual guidance throughout every session.

Our classes are led by me, Gina Vats, a STOTT-certified Pilates instructor with over 15 years of Pilates teaching experience.

I believe great Pilates is not about making every client do the same exercises. It is about understanding how each person moves and helping them progress with confidence.

Because every body moves differently, Pilates should never be one-size-fits-all.
