It was a warm and sunny day yesterday as our Ladies' 1s played in the Wickham Cup at Marden ☀️ The team put in a good pre-season shift with one win, two draws and one loss.

There's one more pre-season friendly for the team this Tuesday away at Old Williamsonians 🏑

Our Ladies' 1s got some pre-season miles in the legs today in their friendly against visitors, Brentwood 🏃🏻‍♀️

Goals from Meg, Gibbo, Emma and Lilia secured a fantastic 4–2 win for the team 🎉

That’s a wrap for our mixed teams in the Folkestone summer league 🏑

Last night was the final game for the Iguanadons 🦖 Even though Honor scored, the team unfortunately lost 3-1 to Canterbury Red.

A huge thank you to Tom for all his organising throughout the summer, to everyone who stepped in to play, and to Folkestone Optimist Hockey Club for hosting another brilliant league.

It was another successful summer camp over Wednesday and Thursday! We had another great turnout of kids, with some being new to hockey, who all practiced complex skills, worked hard and learned key game play skills 🏑 The two days were most enjoyable, for both the kids partaking and for the coaches. 🙌🏻 A huge thank you to Lizzie for organising the whole camp, to Rak and Jermaine for leading the camp, and to our coaches and juniors who got involved ⭐️ We are so excited to see how the upcoming season plays out!

We're so pleased to celebrate another one of our players - Maddy - who recently competed in the International Masters Cup in Belgium playing for Alliance Blue W60 🇧🇪 💙

Considering the team had never met or played with eachother until the tournament, they came fourth out of eight teams 👏🏑 Only narrowly missing out on Bronze after a 2-1 defeat in the semi finals against Australian Spirits Sunset.

Well done Maddy, what an achievement! 🌟

The final game of the Folkestone mixed summer league for our Lions ended in a 3-3 draw against Ashford thanks to goals from Joel, Meg and Gio 🏑🏑🏑

Building on the achievements of our county players, Alex (Men's 2s) had a successful first season in the England Hockey Talent Academy system which led to his selection for the TA Cup in Nottingham in July.

We're really pleased to hear that based on his performances during the tournament, Alex has now been invited to the England U16 Boys trial weekend in September 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿
