What is an Education, Health and Care (EHC) plan and what should it include?

An EHC plan is a legal document which sets out the child or young person's individual SEN, the individual provision they require to meet those needs (and no more but certainly no less), and the aspirational outcomes expected for them as a result.

It is issued when it is necessary and is designed to make sure a child or young person has the legal right to provision which meets their individual needs.
EHC plans are required by law to contain certain sections, and it is important to ensure your child’s EHC plan matches the legal requirements. If it doesn’t, it could make it difficult to enforce.

The Department for Education has published new guidance on inclusion bases within mainstream settings for children and young people with additional needs.
The I.P.S.E.A legal team is currently reviewing the guidance, and will update their website and resources as necessary in due course.

Tickets must be booked in advance. Concessionary rates are available for disabled visitors and free access companion tickets are available for someone accompanying a disabled visitor who has paid for a ticket.

The Thames Valley Adventure Playground is holding a drop-in Family Fun Day on Saturday, August, from 11am to 3pm, with lots of activities available.
Tickets cost £3 per person and there is no need to book in advance.
The specialist SEND playground is on the A4 Bath Road, in Taplow, just east of Maidenhead, just east of the railway bridge over the road.
