Thanks to Guru Mark H Young and Ripon Silat Academy for hosting a fantastic weekend of Silektuo Pagupagu. The sun was shining and the training was excellent, we all had a great time with a brilliant group of very talented people over the two days. A special congratulations goes to John, Alan and Dave who had all manor of tests to overcome to achieved John's 1st level and Alan and Daves 2nd level grading in the traditional Sumatran style of Silek Tuo Pagu Pagu. 🙏

Please be vigilant of your surroundings especially over this next month were people are out more at night for party's or late night shopping. Surroundings are the most important thing to be vigilant about especially at night. Oh and trust you gut instinct if someone or something looks strange, weird or out of place then be alert. 🙏

Great write up about the Kyujutsu course held at the weekend anyone interested should get in contact with Darren, for future events. It was a brilliant event, with expert instructors passing on a wealth of knowledge. Also well done everyone that graded. 🙏

What a superb weekend full of laughs and brilliant training, everyone showed great effort and focus the whole weekend to improve and fine tune the incredible martial art of Silektuo Pagupagu . This was the 3rd seminar between Ripon Silat Academy, Dublin Silek and ourselves.
This was our turn to host the gathering of the clans, sort of speaking and it was a brilliant weekend.
Special thanks goes out to Guru Mark Young, for making the trip from Yorkshire to teach in our club. Its such a pleasure to have someone like Mark with a wealth of Silat & Silek knowledge visit and teach in our club. Also big thanks to Paul Byrne and the guys who travelled up from Dublin Silek, many thanks for making the journey and making it a great training session.
To Darren Dougan, of Golden Dragon Martial Arts & Fitness Centre for his continuous support and allowing our club to training at his venue, we are so very grateful. 🙏 And finally to all the guys who week in and week out train hard in our club to learn and perfect our Art of Silat & Silek. It's not an easy thing to learn or do but it wouldn't be there without you all and your support and efforts. 🙏
Our club has been blessed with this great group of teachers, friends and students, all working together with direct learning and support from our Guru, Edwardo Guci. He has opened our eyes to traditional Minangkabau Silek in West Sumatra and we can not thank him enough for that. 🙏
