⛰️🇲🇦 Massive good luck to Yvonne, Bernadine & Rosie! 🇲🇦⛰️
Three of our Mid Ulster Hikers are currently in Morocco getting ready to take on the mighty Mount Toubkal!
Standing at 4,167m, Toubkal is the highest mountain in North Africa and the highest peak in the Atlas Mountains -so this is no small adventure! 💪⛰️
We hope you girls have the most amazing experience, enjoy every minute (even the tough bits! 😂), look after each other and most importantly stay safe. ❤️
We’ll all be cheering you on from home and can’t wait to see the photos and hear all the stories when you’re back!
Good luck girls -go smash it! 🇲🇦⛰️👏

Hike for Hope Raises an Incredible amount for local Mental Health Charities.
MID ULSTER — We are struggling to find the right words to express the depth of our gratitude. The recent Hike for Hope Charity Sunrise Hike did more than just scale Slieve Gallion; it demonstrated the boundless warmth, compassion, and community spirit of everyone involved. Today, we are overjoyed ...

Grand total raised for the Hike for Hope Charity Sunrise Hike: £23,526 🌅💛
Every penny is going towards incredible local mental health charities, with £7,840 each donated to ALPS, STEPS and SOLAS.
Absolutely blown away by the support, generosity, and community spirit shown throughout this event.
Now the big question… how do we top this in 2027? 👣✨

S.T.E.P.S. Hillwalk on Sunday 24th May will be a 6 mile loop starting from Altbritain Forest with a short road walk to Craigagh Hill, then onwards to Spelhoagh, Oughtmore and dropping down again to Altbritain Forest via Spider Bridge, with the company of the head waters of the Glenedra River on that descent.
This walk will be on public and forestry roads as well as a mountain lane and an open mountain section, which is soft in places.
Budget 4/5 hrs for this
walk.
There is a steep, but short-lived, climb out of Spelhoagh Gap to summit Spelhoagh and the descent of Oughtmore is steep in places, therefore walking boots are a MUST. Wearing gaiters and walking with poles are an advantage.
As parking is limited please meet at St Colm’s High School to leave at 0930hrs to car pool to the walk start.
As usual, bring a light lunch and plenty of fluids and suncream….just in case!
The long range forecast for Sunday morning is 17C, light cloud and a gentle breeze, with a 15% chance of rain.
