What a fantastic day we just had. Couldn’t have asked for a better day to end what has been a summer full of adventure and excitement.
Again we thank all those who attended or supported us today and throughout the season. Our helpers and volunteers are the backbone of our yard so I hope you all know how much you are appreciated.
The progress has been on another level all across the board. Every rider achieved and indeed surpassed the goals we set at start of summer.
Today we had riders achieve pbs. Our horses and ponies rose to the occasion and definitely put their best hoof forward. The equine crew here are so important to us. The expertise and patience of our horses is immense. A bag of carrots left in the tack room is always a welcome treat to share amongst them all.

In preparation for our fun day Saturday 29th…
Those wishing to take part in tack and turn out are welcome to arrive earlier to prepare. Riders will know how long it will take to prepare. Aim to be be ready at 10.15am. Maybe give us a shout to reserve a particular horse or pony.
Jumping will start 10.30 with mini classes. Will depend on weather as to grass or sand paddocks.
Hobby horse jumping just before lunch…
Fancy dress will be 2pm approx.
I think this will be the highlight of the summer. Half fun is in the preparation.
There will be rosettes and prizes for all classes and spot prizes throughout the day.
There will as ever be be a little yard work before the water wars and other entertainment at end of day.
We will run a little later approx 4.30…please don’t expect a clean or dry rider upon pick up.
Remember old clothes/trainers and change of clothes and a towel. Extra lunch might be good to keep energy levels up.

We have been working on term time diary and formation of new groups.
The goal is to produce competent riders but also to improve confidence, knowledge and practical skills on the ground.
We are going to publish schedule on board first. We have a fair number of riders on holidays currently so cannot contact everyone individually.
We are aiming for September start.
New groups will be £25/60mins.
They will split time between riding and practical or theory.
This means when weather is too wet/windy over winter we can work on other topics.
Saturday pony club is unaffected.
We are still a smoke free/vape free establishment.
Our cancellation policy remains the same.

As always some new information on the board…
We have enjoyed a wonderful summer so far. Weather has been mostly decent. Our horses and ponies are in great form. Riders have definitely stepped up a few levels.
Thank you to all our helpers and volunteers who have assisted in the general running of the yard and events. Also those who have helped our younger ponies to further their education this summer.
Next week our new term time schedule will be on the board. Those who have been patiently working off cancellations will need to be on the ball to secure a regular term time slot.
We are excited to introduce our new work booklet….

What a great camp we have had so far. All our riders have pushed through and excelled.
Although we have had a fairly relaxed few days I’m ecstatic all campers have achieved so much growth.
Our team of ponies have behaved beautifully and our younger ponies have really benefitted. They are looking forward to a weekend off…
We have missed the few who couldn’t make it due to either our change of dates, last minute injury and one regular camper who isn’t well right now. We look forward already to next year when everyone will be good to go again.

We have been loving this weather recently. Although it creates a little extra work on the yard for us humans the equines have been in their element having extra water and feed carried to them and plenty of extra cool hosing down. Lessons have been on going albeit at a slower pace with frequent breaks. The golden oldies have just enjoyed extra time off.
We are just reminding riders that although we much prefare a long sleeve t shirt under back protectors we will accept a t shirt to elbow length. No sleeveless or vest or belly tops. Jodhpurs and correct footwear at all times.
Spectators… we really really don’t want to see open toed footwear anywhere in/on the yard and especially not near any equines.
We also want to remind people we are a smoke/vape free yard. Those who smoke in their cars … we would definitely appreciate it if you could not throw buts out on the yard. Cleaning these up takes away from more important yard work.
Safety for all clients whether riding or spectating is always a priority.

Please take a look at stable notice board. Info includes price changes and summer activities.
We have held off as long as possible on increasing prices. However in a bid to provide value for clients we are forming extra group sessions along side the introduction of our work booklets.
My aim is to go back to teaching horsemanship from the ground up. I want my riders educated and experienced in all aspects of horse care, stable management, horse health and riding across all disciplines.
There will still be provision for those who require 1/1 slots. We will always cater for those who ride for alternative reasons. It’s still possible to work at a pace where you feel comfortable.
I am confident that all riders will benefit from the small changes we are implementing over the next month.

Once again we are reminding everyone of our strict cancellation policy. This has long been displayed on our stable notice board and frequently here on our page.
We require a minimum of 48hours notice or full fee due upon return.
This is enforced across group lessons, pony club, 1/1 sessions and all our activities regardless of the reason for absence.
We thank you all for understanding.
