🔥 A fantastic performance from the Aces in the first game of the new season!

Upperlands FC got the new campaign off to the perfect start with a hard-fought 2–1 victory in front of a large crowd at Festival Park. 🏟️🟠⚫

⚽ 20’ — SCOTT BRADLEY
The Aces took the lead on 20 minutes when Scott Bradley produced a great finish to make it 1–0. A brilliant start from Upperlands! 💪

⚽ 52’ — COLERAINE CRUSADERS
Coleraine were awarded a penalty early in the second half, with Sean Heneghan making no mistake from the spot to level the game at 1–1.

Upperlands continued to battle hard and played some excellent football as they looked to regain the lead.

⚽ 70’ — JAY MCKIRGAN
The winning goal arrived on 70 minutes! Scott Bradley found Jay McKirgan, who took a fantastic first touch before smashing the ball into the net to put the Aces back in front. 🚀🟠⚫

The final 20 minutes showed the grit, determination and character of this Upperlands side. Coleraine threw everything forward with long balls and a number of corners, but the Aces stood firm. 💪

🧤 Andrew Leech commanded his box brilliantly, while the defence in front of him were outstanding. Jamie Hudson, Adam Neil, Luke Frances and the colossal Ryan Campbell dealt with everything thrown their way, with Ryan getting his head to everything! 🧱⚫🟠

88 minute: a scuffle between both sets of players resulted in Upperlands Aaron Crooks receiving a red card.

The referee’s whistle eventually sounded to confirm a 2–1 victory and three valuable points in the opening game of the new season! 🎉

A special mention to Jay McKirgan and Scott Bradley, who were both awarded Man of the Match. Their endless work rate was exceptional, with both players also getting themselves on the scoresheet. 👏🔥

Today, we are deeply saddened to learn of the passing of a much-loved member of our football community, Ian McCullough, affectionately known to many as 'Slicer'.

Ian was no stranger to Festival Park in Upperlands, where he was always a highly respected official and an even more respected person.

His dedication to football and his warm, friendly nature left a lasting impression on everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. He will be greatly missed both on and off the pitch.

Everyone at the club extends our heartfelt condolences to Ian's family, friends and all who knew and loved him.

Rest in peace, Slicer. Your service to the game and your friendship will never be forgotten. 🧡

Upperlands FC signed off the season in style with a hard-fought 3–2 victory over Dunaghy FC ⚽🔥

It was a tight game from start to finish, with both sides battling evenly throughout 💪

With the score locked at 2–2 and just 10 minutes remaining, Dylan Wilson stepped up to make the difference, firing home a well-taken winner to seal all three points 🎯🥅

Wilson was in outstanding form, grabbing a brace ⚽⚽, while Luke Francis also got on the scoresheet to complete the tally 👍

It was an excellent all-round team performance, with the squad digging deep when it mattered most to finish the season on a high note 📈👏

Billy gave so much of his time, energy, and passion to those around him.

His commitment, leadership, and quiet dedication made a lasting impact, and he was someone who was always held in the highest regard by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

He was more than just a familiar face — he was part of the fabric of the community, someone whose presence brought people together and whose influence will not be forgotten. His legacy will live on through the many lives he touched over the years.
Billy will be fondly remembered and sadly missed by all who knew him.
