🏆 Peter Morgan Memorial Cup

A huge well done to everyone who played yesterday as we came together to celebrate the memory of Peter. Congratulations to Des Tucker, who took the honours with an excellent score! 👏

A special thank you to everyone at the halfway house, who helped raise an amazing £110 for today’s Ladies Charity Day held in memory of Menna Lewis. All proceeds of today go to Velindre Cancer Centre.

I would like to wish our Captain all the very best and hope he enjoys a successful day.

Hopefully, you’re all ready for a day of golf, laughs, questionable decision-making and, if the handicap system is feeling generous, a few decent shots!

As you’ll see on the 18th putting area, there’s a special message from our Captain. If that wasn’t enough excitement, we are also unveiling his 10th tee wall and steps!

Our Captain may have famously told you about how he and his old man, Billy Hodgson, built the wall back in the 1980s. Well, they’ve had a revamp and are looking great. A massive thank you to Nathan Richards for his skill, hard work and craftsmanship in rebuilding the steps.

For today to happen, a lot of work has gone in from the Captain’s Committee, the Executive Committee and all the volunteers who have given up countless hours to keep the course and greens healthy. Of course, a special thank you also goes to the green staff for getting the course looking its best and ready for the big day. 👏

There’s plenty of entertainment lined up, so make the most of it:

⛳ Take your chances in the £5 hole-in-one challenge (make sure you bring cash) for the opportunity to win a £1,000 prize!

🏆 A fantastic day at Maesteg Golf Club! ⛳

Today we had the pleasure of presenting Tom Williams with the Scratch Cup trophy, following his outstanding victory in the competition two weeks ago.
It’s not often—if ever—that we see scoring like this, with a phenomenal 64 in the first round followed by a superb 68 in the second. An incredible performance and a thoroughly deserved champion. Congratulations, Tom! 👏🏆

Congratulations also to Mike Kehoe, who won Best Net over the first 18 holes. Fantastic golf from both players.

🙏 A huge thank you to our Veterans Section for their generous £100 donation to the Junior Section. Your continued support is greatly appreciated and will help our young golfers continue to develop. 💚

Finally, congratulations to Nigel Jones, winner of today’s Stableford Cup with an excellent 41 points. 👏

👏 Huge congratulations to Tom Lloyd, who had our third hole in one of the season on the 6th during yesterday’s Junior team match against Swansea Bay!

To top it off, our juniors secured a 2–1 victory. A brilliant performance all round. Well done, Tom and the team! 💚💛

💚 Following on from our volunteer post, we would like to extend our thanks to the band of magicians (electricians!) who helped fix the water pump for the borehole this week during a nervous few hours!
