Late post from last week… and we have got BIG non football news this weekend from one of our Lions 🦁🔥

Last week, the Lions played a great game against Collyhurst Girls. Working with each other in the friendly game to prepare for this week’s semi. Both Rory and Ernie were awarded MOTM. It’s very rare for the manager to give two, but this was one of those moments where it was fully deserved 👏

Ernie’s persistence in defence and his attitude was exactly what we needed. Solid as a rock at the back, but also confident enough to push forward and take his chance on goal — we love to see it 💪 Well done, Ernie!

Rory was everywhere. Strong positioning on the wing and in midfield, always making the right passes and supporting his teammates. His battling spirit and never-give-up attitude — especially against bigger, stronger opposition — earned him his MOTM ⚡

After a long and tough trial process, our Lion Ernie earned his place at the East Cheshire England Hockey Academy 🏑🔥

He made his debut on Saturday AND his team came out on top against other teams 🙌🏆

Our manager went along to support! It’s not just about the football!

Massive congratulations, Ernie. All that hard work paying off — and just the beginning 🚀

⚡️Match report - Semi Final

Another outstanding performance from the Lions today as they power past a strong opponent 🦁⚽️

A fast start saw the team take control early, playing composed, controlled football and building relentless pressure with some excellent passages of play.

At the back, a rock-solid defensive unit put in a commanding display. Isla stood tall when called upon, while Zeb, Austin, and Ernie were dominant in challenges and composed when driving the ball forward into midfield.

In midfield, it was a true team effort. Whoever stepped in did their job with discipline and determination. Josh, Rory, and Damian battled non-stop, creating chances and threading some perfectly timed balls through to the attack.

Up front, the energy and hunger were undeniable. The front three delivered in style, all getting on the scoresheet — 4 from Roman, 2 from Riley, and 1 from Coby 🔥

A special mention to today’s MOTM Theo, who controlled the midfield brilliantly and capped it off with a fantastic goal 👏🏆

Calm on the ball, clinical in the final third, and full of communication and composure — a complete team performance.

110% from everyone 💪
