Macclesfield Men’s team player - Will Hurley - is competing in the English National Sheep Dog Trials this weekend at Sutton Hall Farm. With one dog having already competed this weekend, Will’s got his hopes on Sunday’s run as he goes up against some of the country’s most skilled handlers and sheep dogs.

Those who do best will have the chance to go on to compete for International honours.

Will is entry no. 142 and is likely to be on at around 4:30/5pm, so get down and give him some support!

Final matches of the season for the Ladies 2s and Men’s 1s took place the other week.

Ladies rounded out their campaign with a 9-3 win away at Mellor before closing out with a 6-6 draw vs Hazel Grove, making it their strongest season in the last 5yrs! Well done ladies 🙌🏻

The Men’s 1s couldn’t build on their big home win vs Prestbury in the following days match vs Urmston 1s, succumbing to an 8-4 loss, but managed to round out the season with an 8-4 win away from home (finally) over Brabyns, matching their points tally from last season (9) and guaranteeing at least 7th place, but potentially 6th, dependent on fixtures elsewhere. Another great season in Div 2 for the Men’s 1s 💪🏻

Ladies 2s have had 2 matches in 5 days this week… a tale of 2 matches that’s for sure!

After a tough 0-12 loss away vs Northern 3s in sweltering conditions, the ladies rallied to take down Cheadle 2s 12-0 at home to all but guarantee safety.

The 2s will look to close out their season with away games at Mellor (21st) & Hazel Grove (27th). Best of luck Ladies 🙌🏻

Men’s 1s go undefeated at home this season with 2 wins & 3 draws after today’s 10-2 win over Prestbury! 💪🏻

3 games on the road now to round out the season, starting with Urmston tomorrow and Bramhall Park on Wednesday, before Brabyns on 29th July!
