Good afternoon all,
A little late in posting this as we all needed a wee break to get over the days excitement here for the Gordon Swinton Memorial trophy.

Firstly as a club we would like to thank each and every competitor that came along on a day that promised some decidedly dodgy weather to say the least, some travelling from far away. So a big 'THANK YOU' for obtaining a full competition once again.

As usual, many thanks go out to Geoff Collins and
Julie Collins for ensuring the smooth running of the comp and updating our all singing, all dancing Live results via tv screens and also via the QR codes that accessed directly to the draw for anyone that was tech savvy on the day 😄.

Big thankyou also goes to Dean Holmes for being the "host with the most" on MC duty throughout the day and setting speakers and god knows what else for everyone to hear propely.

We'd also like to thank Bethan Holmes for her help in the kitchen throughout the day 😉 x
Hopefully ypu were all well fed and happy.

Finally, lets talk some bowls!

We dodged the bad weather for a good chunk of the day but sadly by the time it had rolled onto the 1/4's the wrath of the Gods kicked in. Thunder, lightening and rain so bad that Noah parked up his ark on the carpark welcoming animals.

It wasn't for the faint hearted. Us bowlers are made of sturdy stuff though ( or classed as insane, you choose) and carried on after a short break.

Amazingly , considering the green was completely flooded at one point it drained sufficiently to get to the business end. The standard remained incredibly high but it really was a war of attrition at that point. Our 2 finalists were David Jackson and Steven Gavin.
Even stevens for half the game but Steve went into overdrive producing great bowls to eventually run out 21 - 10 winner and pocket the £750 1st prize (never more deserving)

The weekend here and so is the Premier league. Two games that you can watch on the big screens at the Packhorse and not to be missed. Not sure if pies will be on, think somebody ate them all 😉

What a day!!

The 'A' Team organised a get together today and this comp was far from boring.

A 12 year old got through to the quarter finals, beating some real talent then a brand new bowler also entered the stage.

A great day all round raising money for the club as well as our chosen charity ROAR.

A hard fought final between Steve Burroughs and Mike Collier saw the talent on hand, but pushing through to the end was 'A' Team player Steve soldier on to take the crown.

Well done to all who entered. We'll see you all next week for the Gordon Swinton Memorial Trophy.

Big shout out to Shaun Swinton who slaved over a hot stove for breakfast and Christine Watkins for helping out in the kitchen. Also to Geoff Collins who has gone above and beyond to keep every comp ticking over and bringing in some great technology to keep you all informed. Real team effort goes along way.
