St Annes Herons u9s hosted Poulton for their final preseason friendly this morning and what a game it was! A brilliant performance from both teams made it an end to end thriller.

Harlie was solid in the tackle and distributed the ball excellently from defence, earning multiple assists.

Charlotte had a great first half in net, making some brave saves, before demonstrating some fantastic ball skills on the wing in the second half.

Tayla battled hard and made some great runs with the ball, scoring a fantastic goal ⚽️

Parents player of the match went to Orla who was unstoppable in attack, scoring five goals ⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️

Coaches player of the match went to Draya whose defensive instincts really showed today and she tracked back well, made some well timed tackles and cleared the ball strongly.

Well done to all the girls for a brilliant team performance!

The new season is in touching distance so that can only mean one thing.........Weekly reports are back!!!

Our teams have been upping the training sessions, trying on the new kits and today some have been out and about testing out some new systems and player positions so lets see how they got on at the Lions tournament in Lytham and BJFF tournament.

💜Under 8 Magpies - Saint Anne’s Mags — BJFF Tournament Cup Winners
What an outstanding day for the team. We travelled to the BJFF Tournament, faced some of the very best sides in the competition, and came away as Cup Winners. Every single player stepped up, gave everything, and did their job — this was a full team performance from start to finish.
Kian was unshakeable in goal, shot stopping all day with one being a big save in the semi final penalty shootout and even found the back of the net himself a goal kick, truly exceptional display.
Louis and Emmett were absolute rocks at the back, defending fearlessly and giving us a platform to build from all day.
Joey, Cruz and Joe were magnificent in midfield. They moved as one, battled for every single duel, and controlled the tempo of every game with real quality.
Up front, Sofía and Josh were outstanding. They led the line brilliantly, worked tirelessly, and set the standard for the whole team from the very first kick.
This is our second trophy of pre-season, and it is fully deserved. The hard work, attitude and team spirit have been there from day one. The league campaign starts next week. We take this momentum, this confidence, and we go and do what we do best.

🐍Under 9 Pythons - Pythons took part in the Lytham Lions Club tournament today to kick-start the new season. 4 matches played against tough opposition, but just what we needed to shake off the cobwebs of the summer break and get back to match sharpness.
Special shout-out to our two new players, George and Ralph, getting their first taste of match football today, and both getting on the score sheet in the process. Coaches' 'Python of the Tournament' was shared between them in recognition of this achievement. Dream start for both as they settle into the team.
Parents' 'Python of the Tournament' went to Orla who has really gone from strength to strength over the summer, and was a nightmare for the opposition defences all tournament.
Looking forward to starting the season proper next weekend. ! 💚💜
🐍Under 9 Cobras - This morning the cobras made the short trip to Lytham for the Lions tournament playing against local sides Lytham, YMCA and fellow St Anne’s teams Pythons and Vipers.
We played 4 games, grabbing 2 wins, 1 draw and 1 defeat. It was a great overall display from the team and a nice warm up ahead of the season starting.
The team were a little unlucky not to leave with the trophy, but we couldn’t be prouder of the efforts. Goals were shared around the team which is always great to see.
Special shout out to new signing Lochlan who was making his debut for the team, he was absolutely brilliant throughout showing a class touch and great finishing.

💛Under 12 Yellows - Following a good summer break, the Yellows travelled the short trip to visit our local rivals in the annual pre season tournament The Lions Cup, seeking to win it for the 4th consecutive season.
Yellows had made some cracking transfers during the window in securing Hayden, Freddie and Ella, all of which slotted in and looked more than comfortable today on their debuts.
The team started slow however quickly found their rhythm creating good passages of play and a plethora of chances. The chances turned into a host of goals from Henry, Hayden, Finn, Lorenzo, Kobie, Freddie, Jacob, Tommy and Ciaran. It was a good opportunity for the team to play unfamiliar roles today which they all adapted well to and embraced the opportunity. Ultimately it was a great day for team bonding and having fun whilst retaining the cup in sportsman fashion.
Ciaran won players player for his solid play at the back and his cameo role up top bagging a hatrick.
Hayden played a number of different positions and excelled in every role he was asked to. Notably his goal from near the halfway line was a highlight and helped him earn managers and parents player.
One midweek friendly left before we welcome Foxhall to BRN.
Well done Yellows-a cracking team performance!

💜💚U14 Greens💚💜

St Annes Greens 2 - 3 BJFF Phantoms

The # were excellent throughout today against a good side. Despite being the first game of Pre season for the Greens everyone put in a great performance and not one player should be disappointed.

Both halves were quite even affairs. The Phantoms went through on goal a couple of times but Tom was there quick off his line to collect the ball. Unfortunately they got through one too many times and managed to grab the first goal. Lucas W did some great play from full back down the wing with an excellent pass from new Greens Captain, Nathaniel, which nearly led to an equaliser. Both teams had chances without scoring. Riley, on his debut, hardly gave their winger a chance. But just before half time BJFF went 2 up.

Just after the start of the second half the Greens had a few chances. Rowan thought he put the Greens back in it only for the ball to go agonisingly wide. Not long after the Greens had a free kick which was brilliantly crossed which Rowan almost scored from but his shot was saved which went to Lucas W who finished it well.
Unfortunately for the Greens, Bispham restored their 2 goal lead not long after despite some great goalkeeping from Ethan. However with a few minutes to go Tom, who played in net the first half, scored an absolute banger. To give the Greens hope. But it was not to be. However, each player put in an absolute great performance. Riley was excellent on his debut. Fin was great on his second game and return from his broken wrist.

Well done to Parents Player Tom, who not only got the goal of the game but when in goal was excellent.

Managers Player was Lucas, who played Left back throughout. Not only was his defensive play great he got forward to help the attack when he could.

A massive well done to U16 Yellows player Zack who recently passed his referee course and is now a qualified referee and ready for the new football season. Today he refereed his very first game at BRN and did a very good job, with many spectators speaking highly of his performance.

Zack has played football for many years now and has an excellent understanding of the game which will be a valuable tool as he takes on this new challenge.

Congratulations Zack and well done on your first game.

💜💚Under 9 Herons💚💜

The brand new u9 Herons had their first match today in a friendly against Elswick and Inskip Girls and it was great to see them working as a team, battling hard and scoring goals!

Ariana worked hard up front, scoring two goals ⚽️⚽️ with some great finishing, whilst Millie made some great tackles at the back.

Draya volunteered to go in goal, making some brave saves in the second half whilst Orla showed some great dribbling skills on the wing, earning her a brilliant assist as well as a calmly slotted goal ⚽️.

Parents player of the match went to Harlie who was strong on the ball, tackled hard and put through some great attacking passes.

Coaches player of the match went to Talya who was a constant threat to the opposition and never gave up, scoring a well deserved goal ⚽️.

Well done Herons!

🐧💚💜 THE PENGUINS HAVE LANDED 💜💚🐧

What a day for our U7 Penguins, the youngest girls’ team at St. Annes Football Club, as they took their very first steps into football as a team ⚽️🥰

The girls headed to Stanley Park for a fantastic 10-team tournament, welcoming teams from across the area including Hesketh Bank, Myerscough and Bispham.

And what a first experience it was 🙌

🚩 Walking onto the pitches through a tunnel of flags
⚽️ 3v3 matches
🏅 A medal for every player
😁 And, most importantly, lots and lots of smiles!

The Penguins more than held their own throughout the 3v3 games and showed exactly what they can do. For many of them, this was their first taste of playing in a tournament environment, and they absolutely loved it 💪🐧

A huge thank you to the organisers for putting on such a brilliant morning, sponsored by Wembley Stadium Foundation, Grassroots Football and the FLYFL League. It was a fantastic experience for all the girls.
