Fylde Coast Judo Academy

Today was our first ever 'Summer Special' and what a day it was! ☀️🙌

Inspired by the traditional Japanese 'Shochu Geiko' martial arts training period held during the hottest days of summer, our players enjoyed getting back into Judo after their summer break with three hours of tough training!

Despite the typical British summer rain the children certainly made the most of their session, working well together and spurring each other on to improve and we wish two of our competitors; Amber and Leah the best of luck when they take to the tatami next weekend!

Fylde Coast Judo resumes from next week! It's the perfect opportunity to get involved and see what all the fuss is about!

Today Jake and Dan attended a Neil Adams Masterclass at Staverly Judo Club in the Lake District!

Neil Adams MBE is a two time Olympic Silver Medalist, former World Champion, five time European Champion and is known throughout the Judo community as the Voice of Judo because of his memorable and insightful commentary at major events.

As always from Neil, there was super valuable technical advice that we can't wait to bring back to the club to share!

It was also a special occasion as our youngest member Joshua got to meet the Voice of Judo!

Our deepest thanks to Staverly Judo Club, Neil and his wife Niki Adams for their organisation and time today.
