Meadows Equestrian Centre

As the Hibernia Young Horse Challenge reaches the halfway stage, there’s still plenty of opportunity for riders to secure their place in the finals, which this year will be held as the feature classes on the Sunday of the Meadows Spring Championships.

To allow as many competitors the opportunity to qualify the same horse and rider combination must now only compete on two separate occasions.
Qualifiers will take place on Saturday 18th April and Friday 24th April at The Meadows.

Classes are tailored to showcase each age group:
• 4-year-old horses will qualify from the90cm classes
• 5-year-old horses from the 1m classes
• 6-year-old horses from the 1.10m classes
• 7-year-old horses from the 1.20m classes

With a total prize fund of £3,000 for the Hibernia Young Horse Challenge, this is a fantastic opportunity to gain experience, compete at a high level and be part of a championship final.

We’re delighted to announce our 2026 Young Horse Challenge generously sponsored by Hibernia Sport Horses.

We will have 4 qualifying legs, and to be eligible for the final the same rider/ horse combination must record 2 double clears.

Amateur Qualifier Notice

We are aware that the draw for the Amateur class is incorrect. We have asked SJI to redraw. Please keep an eye on SJI live for an updated start list for this class

Balmoral Horse Qualifier this weekend!!

Time is running out to get your entries in for the chance to pick up a coveted ‘qualified’ rosette for Balmoral Show.

RUAS SJ Qualifiers will take place in Arena 1 on Saturday.

Arena 2 will also host normal SJI classes ranging from 80cms - 1.30m.

Entries close 4pm tomorrow for both.

Our Mid week training shows continue tomorrow and to help you get ready we’re bringing back our option fence.

Competitors have the option of jumping the normal vertical fence or to school over the water tray.

Entries as always are taken on the day, starting at 10am with our 60cms.
