⚽ SAVAGE CUP ACTION AT THE ARENA

Our U19s continue their Savage Cup campaign this morning, with the penultimate game of the group stage against local opposition Craigavon City U19s.

The lads will be looking for a strong performance as the group stage begins to draw to a close. 🟡⚫🔴

🇺🇸🏈 FROM LURGAN TOWN TO NORTH CAROLINA!

A very proud moment for everyone at Lurgan Town FC as our former player Adam McCann-Gibbs is set to make his debut for the University of North Carolina Tar Heels in the Aer Lingus College Football Classic at Dublin’s Aviva Stadium.

Adam swapped the round ball for the oval one as his sporting journey took him from football into American Football, eventually earning him the opportunity to head Stateside and join one of the biggest college programmes in the USA.

Tomorrow, he gets to pull on the famous Carolina Blue and make his debut back on home soil – under legendary coach Bill Belichick. 🏈

It’s fantastic to see a former Town player performing on such a huge stage and we know plenty around the club will be keeping a close eye on the action.

⚽ PLAYERS WANTED | 2014 BORN ⚽

We are looking to add players to our 2014 Development Squad (U13s) for the new season.

This would be ideal for boys who have had some experience of football, whether that’s with a school team, Boys’ Brigade or other coaching sessions.

We’ve somehow convinced Lianne McCooey, Pete Giffen, James McKegney, Johnny Bow and Ronan Keith to come along and provide the laughs, followed by music by Andy Heasley, for anyone who hasn’t pulled a muscle laughing by then. 🕺

🏆 SAVAGE CUP | ANNAGH UNITED 0-3 LURGAN TOWN U19s

Two games. Two derby wins. 💪

Town made it two wins from two in the Savage Cup with an impressive 3-0 victory over Annagh United at Brownstown Park.
Town started strongly and deservedly took the lead when Ellais O'Neil was brought down inside the box before stepping up to convert the resulting penalty.

The U19s came flying out again after the break. Some excellent team play ended with O'Neil releasing Klaudiusz Suchonski, who produced a brilliant finish to double the advantage.

Town continued to dominate across the pitch and, despite missing a second penalty, made it 3-0 when Matty Little powered home a header from a David Lawson corner.

A superb all-round performance, with the defence outstanding from start to finish and goalkeeper Brogan earning a well-deserved clean sheet. O'Neil and Suchonski were a constant threat going forward, while several players could easily have taken the Man of the Match honours.

⭐ MOTM: Rylee Jordan – outstanding throughout.

Another derby win and a perfect start to the Savage Cup campaign.

Next up ➡️ Craigavon City on Saturday.

Our U19s made it two wins from two in the Savage Cup with an impressive 3-0 victory away to Annagh United, thanks to goals from O’Neill, Suchonski and Little.

The U23s also picked up a big result, edging a five-goal encounter away to Crewe United 3-2. T. Hawthorne, C. Gorman and McBride on target for Town.

⚽ MIDWEEK ACTION FOR THE TOWN

Two Town sides are on the road tonight, with our U23s and U19s both in action. 🟡⚫🔴

The U23s make the trip to Crewe Park to take on Crewe United U23s, while our U19s continue their Savage Cup campaign against Annagh United U19s at Brownstown Park.

Good luck to both teams! 💪

A difficult day for our senior sides, with both the 1st Team and U23s coming away empty-handed.

The 1st Team fell to a 4-1 defeat away to Valley Rangers, despite the scoreline sitting at 0-0 until late in the first half. Louis Henderson grabbed Town's goal, but it's now three defeats on the bounce for the 1sts.

At The Arena, the U23s suffered their first defeat of the season, going down 3-2 to Banbridge Rangers. Gregg Harrison and Niall McBride were on target for Town, with a late Rangers goal ultimately deciding a tight contest.

Not our day. We regroup and go again.
