Covenham Sailing Club Welcome to Covenham Sailing Club page. The Reservoir is open to members (and fee paying non-members with RYA level 1 & 2) throughout the year.

Covenham Reservoir is an inland reservoir which covers about
218 acres (with about 10% as a "no go" Bird Sanctuary). Facilities: Hot Showers, Slipway, Repair facilities, Club House, Bar, Kitchen, Disabled access including Crane / Hoist. The access gates to the Reservoir/Sailing Centre & Club House are usually open during Sailing Club sessions, however for security reasons the gates to the centre are locked outside of club sessions. Keys are available to members upon joining. The centre has ample parking, with changing rooms and hot showers. There is also a bar, which is usually open around sailing sessions. Boat launching is from the slipway and there are currently four jetties for mooring. Boat / Categories permitted to launch: All one design sailing dinghies, catamarans and all types & makes of windsurfers. Categories not permitted to launch: Powerboats other than the rescue boats, during sailing sessions and craft over 16 feet. Boats currently being sailed are: RS200, RS400, RS Vareo, Albacore, OK, Laser, Laser Radial, Lightning, Sunfish, Streaker,Topaz & Xenon. A number of other assorted craft grace the dinghy park along with a small number of Cats. Sailing Water Times

Summer Time
Mon-Fri Dawn until 16:00 - shared water with Covenham Water Ski Club. Wed 16:00 to dark - Club Sailing, Youth & Adults Training. Thu 16:00 to dark - Club Racing & General Leisure sailing. Sat Dawn to Dusk - Youth & Adults Training and Sailability (on alternative Saturdays) - shared water with Covenham Water Ski Club. Sun 13:00 to 18:00 - Club Racing & General Leisure sailing. Winter Time 30th Oct to 31st Mar
Sunday 11:00 to 14:00 - Club Racing & General Leisure sailing. Handicap racing is held on Thursday evenings and Sundays when people of all ages and abilities are encouraged to join the fun. Those not wishing to race can cruise for pleasure during these times.

Always wanted to try SUP but never gotten round to it? Well tomorrow night WEDNESDAY 23rd SEPTEMBER is our VERY LAST beginners session for the year.

โšซYouโ€™ll be paddling in a large, safe body of water guided by experienced coaches; If you're experienced you'll have the opportunity to learn new skills and if you're a beginner we'll teach you everything you need to know to get started and you can work towards your Paddle UK Start Award

Always wanted to try SUP but never gotten round to it? Well now is the perfect opportunity as after a few weeks of being fully booked we have spaces available tomorrow night WEDNESDAY 9th SEPTEMBER for beginners, board hire and competent sessions.

Our Sup team have had a brilliant day today supporting the Louth Navigation Trust Austen Fen Slipway first anniversary celebration by providing Introduction to Stand up Paddleboarding sessions throughout the day.

It was wonderful to welcome brand new paddlers of all ages to the water (all of whom were fabulous) but a special mention goes to the littlest kids that had a go, they were fearless and inspiring to watch

Live music and refreshments were available throughout the day and it was once again a very enjoyable event.

Anyone who had a go at Sup today and would like to do more, or who is still to have their first go on a board youโ€™d be more than welcome to our Wednesday evening beginners Sup club at Covenham Resevoir.

**Join us on Wednesday evenings for Sup Club**

Last week we welcomed two beginners brand new to Sup who by the end of the session were standing, paddling, could self rescue, prone paddle, learnt the basics of turning and had a great time.

Our returning beginners practiced using the correct strokes and techniques for straight line paddling and tighter turning and it wonโ€™t be long till they achieve their Paddle Uk Start award

Meanwhile our more competent paddlers worked on developing various skills and also covered a few km of the reservoir

**LEARN TO STAND-UP PADDLEBOARD AT COVENHAM SUP CLUB**

Emily joined us for SUP club for the first time in May. She already had her own board but hadn't mastered the basics of SUP (standing, paddling, turning and most importantly, self rescue) so decided to come along to learn these important skills. Under the guidance of our coaches and showing real determination she has progressed hugely and has kindly allowed us to share pics of her very first time out with us to her standing and paddling happily for the first time last Wednesday.

At last weeks SUP club we welcomed new paddlers all of whom did brilliantly.

We had to start a little late due to the weather conditions however it was worth waiting for. Calm water, no wind, beautiful rainbows and a setting sun made for perfect paddle and weโ€™ll be doing it all again this week!

If youโ€™ve always wanted to give Stand Up Paddleboarding (sup) a try? Or done it before but not been out yet this year then now is the time to do it

The reservoir often offers protection from the wind, but if conditions aren't ideal, we always have fun shore-based sessions lined up (and they're free!). A great chance to learn more and meet new paddlers.
