A month on from the start of the swimming action at the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games, we're celebrating the clubs behind Team England's swimmers 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

We're shining a spotlight on the first clubs that helped shape these athletes, providing places where they could have fun, enjoy the sport, make lifelong friendships and discover where swimming could take them.

Every swimming journey starts somewhere ✨

While the medals, records and memories were made in Glasgow, the foundations were built much closer to home. They were built in clubs across England, supported by dedicated coaches, volunteers, teammates and families who helped make those moments possible.

Access Sport has partnered with Disability Sport Wales, Scottish Disability Sport and Disability Sport Northern Ireland to deliver a UK-wide initiative supporting young people to become leaders in community sport.

Thanks to National Lottery players, Access Sport will receive more than £3.5 million of life-changing funding over six years from The National Lottery Community Fund.

With this funding, we are joining forces with Disability Sport Wales, Scottish Disability Sport and Disability Sport NI to launch ‘From Sideline to Centre’!

A UK-wide initiative that will transform how clubs engage, empower, and support young people to become leaders in community sport.

Together, we’re working across all four nations to build a more inclusive sporting system where young people are leaders, decision-makers and changemakers.

A successful championships in Paris and nine medals for England's swimmers 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 👏

With the European Aquatics Championships now complete, we're looking back on the performances that helped England's swimmers contribute nine of Great Britain's 14 swimming medals as the team topped the medal table in Paris 🏊 🇬🇧

🥇 Gold (4) • Women's 4x200m Freestyle Relay (CR)
• Men's 4x200m Freestyle Relay (CR)
• Mixed 4x200m Freestyle Relay (CR)
• Women's 4x100m Medley Relay (CR)

🥈 Silver (1) • Amalie Smith, Women's 400m Individual Medley

🥉 Bronze (4) • Max Litchfield, Men's 400m Individual Medley
• Lauren Cox, Women's 50m Backstroke
• Freya Colbert, Women's 200m Freestyle
• James Guy, Men's 200m Freestyle

The 14 swimming medals, seven diving medals and five artistic swimming medals saw GB finish on top overall!

🌟 A new group of talented young divers is set to begin their journey on the Swim England Diving Junior Development Squad for 2026-27.

Congratulations to everyone selected following their hard work and commitment in and out of the pool 👏

Representing clubs from across England, we're excited to see what the season ahead holds for this promising group 💙

It was a pleasure to attend a Swim Safe event at Royal Victoria Docks alongside the Mayor of Newham and local MP James Asser. 🙌

Over the past six weeks, hundreds of children have taken part in free Swim Safe lessons as part of the Summer Splash pop-up season, gaining essential skills and confidence to stay safe in and around the water.🛟💙

It's been fantastic to see the positive impact of the programme, and we're looking forward to welcoming even more families when Swim Safe returns in Summer 2027. ☀️🌊🏊‍♂️
