Osu! The summer break is over, and training has resumed. This term will be a particularly busy one for everyone, with Christmas at the end of it and plenty of events and commitments along the way. Whether you are working or studying, don’t allow busy schedules to get in the way. Work hard to maintain a good balance between studies and training, or work and training. Do your best throughout the term! Osu!
Kyokushin Karate London Tohyama Dojo
The London Tohyama Dojo teaches Kyokushin Karate as it is taught in Japan. Osu!
"To become a tenacious person in society" is what can be learnt from
London Dojo's Kyokushin Karate. Whatever the situation we are faced with, whether it be at work, at school, amongst friends or in our own families, we endeavour to promptly and harmoniously settle issues with corrective measures. By building up the soul, body and mind through training in London Dojo's Kyokushin Karate, these qualities in life can be achieved."

Osu! Have a great bank holiday weekend! Osu!
Osu! A long and cold winter is approaching ahead. Make the most of the rest of August! Osu!

Osu! The last training for August and special grading concluded. Next weekend is a three-day Bank Holiday weekend, so Tohyama Dojo will also be taking a short summer break until September. Recharge and come back refreshed, ready to train hard again starting September! After today’s training, the instructors enjoyed lunch together.
Osu! Our final check before next week’s graduation. Today’s training focused on correcting the finer details, particularly our stance and posture. It is important to repeat each movement accurately until it becomes natural and ingrained in the body. Osu!
Osu! Throughout August, we are taking on tough training sessions with longer periods of ido-geiko. Ido-geiko is where we learn to apply the techniques developed through kihon while moving. Ido-geiko leads to kata, and kata leads to kumite. The purpose of ido-geiko is to develop the ability to maintain proper posture while moving, remain constantly aware of the shifting of your centre of gravity, and move in a way that allows you to make full use of 100% of your speed and impact. Ido-geiko is demanding, but whenever you start to feel tired, take a moment to correct your posture and breathing, and keep pushing forward. Osu!

Osu! Our friendly and always helpful dojo caretakers, Noel (centre) and Paul (right). All of the dojo members would like to express our sincere gratitude for their dedicated and meticulous work. “Thank you, as always, for everything you do!” Osu!
Osu! We held a special training session in preparation for the upcoming grading. The focus was on developing efficient body mechanics to generate greater speed and power in each technique, as well as improving body movement to create smooth transitions from one technique to the next. The key is to keep practising over and over without giving up until you can do it properly. Keep pushing yourself towards the goal you have set right in front of you. Osu!
Osu! The summer holidays have begun. In today’s training, we focused intensively on attacking after shifting to the side of your opponent. Train hard this summer and gain an edge over your rivals! Osu!

Osu! After four years of training together, it is time to say goodbye to Mizuki as she returns to Japan. Mizuki has always been quiet and unassuming, the sort of person who steadily puts in the hard work. She was the quickest in the dojo to learn kata, and she tackled even the most demanding conditioning exercises—which require precise body control—with calm determination. In many ways, she has been a role model for everyone. We will all miss her greatly, but even after leaving London, may she continue to live by the Tohyama Dojo spirit and always keep moving forward. Good luck, Mizuki! Osu!
