Holly Mayer Academy of Dance is a fresh and exciting new Dance Academy in Putney, South West London. The Academy is under the direction of professional dancer and teacher Principal Holly Mayer NDPD ARAD RAD RTS The classes are held at St Margaret’s Church SW15 5HU. The Academy is a registered school with the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) and the Imperial Society of Teachers of dancing (ISTD). These include RAD Ballet, Pointe work, ISTD Modern and Tap, Jazz, contemporary, limbering/strengthening classes and also adult ballet and Jazz. All teachers have trained and performed professionally and also successfully completed RAD and ISTD teaching qualifications. These teachers therefore offer children experience from all aspects of the world of dance. Teachers are also CRB checked and are carefully selected to ensure they have excellent rapport with the children, providing fun, imaginative and creative classes. The principal’s vision:-

🌟 A Huge Shoutout to the Amazing Teaching Team!

To the most incredible teaching team,
I just wanted to take a moment to give you all the biggest shoutout you truly deserve!

Behind every confident dancer, every proud smile, every achievement, and every little step forward, there is a team of teachers who pour their hearts, time, patience, and passion into what they do. And you all do that in abundance. 🥹

You are so much more than dance teachers. You are cheerleaders, role models, shoulder-to-cry-on people and motivators. You create a space where dancers feel supported, cared for, encouraged, and inspired to believe in themselves, even on the days when they doubt their own abilities.

Your kindness, dedication, and the love you show every student never go unnoticed.

Thank you for believing in our dancers, for pushing them to grow, for reminding them that mistakes are part of the journey, and for teaching them that dance is not just about perfect steps, but about confidence, friendship, resilience, and having the courage to shine. ✨

✨ Holly Mayer Academy of Dance – What a Weekend! ✨

We are still coming down from what was such an incredible weekend, and honestly, we couldn’t be more proud of our dancers. 🩵

A huge thank you to our fabulous teaching team. So much time, thought, energy and love goes into putting a show like this together, and we are incredibly grateful for everything you do for our dancers.

And to our wonderful parents, carers and chaperones, thank you. Thank you for the extra practising at home, the endless trips to and from dance, helping with costumes, remembering everything they need, and for all the support you give behind the scenes. We know how much goes into making a show happen, and it truly doesn’t go unnoticed.

What made this weekend so special was seeing everyone come together. Our teachers, parents, carers and chaperones all played their part, working together and supporting the children every step of the way. It really is a team effort, and this weekend showed just how special our academy family is.

And then there were the children… 🥹

From our tiniest dancers to our oldest students, they absolutely blew the roof off the Epsom Playhouse ! Their behaviour, attitude, commitment and performances were impeccable, and watching them all support and encourage one another was something we will never forget.

We were genuinely blown away by them. Every single dancer should be incredibly proud of themselves, they stood on that stage, gave it everything and made us all so very proud.

Thank you to everyone who helped make this weekend what it was. These are the moments that remind us why we do what we do, and we feel incredibly lucky to share them with such a wonderful academy family.

What a team. What a show. What a weekend. ❤️

At dance, progress looks different for everyone. 🌱

It might be mastering a step that once felt impossible, finding the confidence to perform, improving your technique, or simply having the courage to keep trying when something doesn’t come easily.

We want our dancers to learn that success isn’t about comparing yourself to the person next to you, it’s about recognising your own progress and being proud of how far you’ve come.

WHICH DANCE CLASS IS RIGHT FOR MY CHILD?

Choosing the right class can sometimes feel a little confusing, especially if your child is new to dance. At Holly Mayer Academy of Dance, we offer a range of classes to suit different ages, interests and abilities.

BALLET
A wonderful foundation for all dancers, helping to develop posture, technique, coordination, strength and musicality.

TAP
A fun and energetic style where dancers learn to create rhythms and sounds with their feet while developing timing and coordination.

JAZZ
Full of energy and personality! Jazz helps dancers develop performance skills, flexibility, coordination and confidence.

ACRO
Perfect for children who love to tumble and learn tricks. Our Acrobatic Arts classes focus on strength, flexibility, balance, control and progression.

MUSICAL THEATRE
Combining dance, acting and performance, these classes are ideal for children who love being on stage and telling a story.

SO, WHERE DO WE START?

Our classes are divided into age-appropriate groups and abilities, so there’s something for everyone — from little ones taking their first steps into dance to more experienced dancers looking to develop their skills.

Our Acrobatic Arts classes at Holly Mayer Academy of Dance are a fantastic way for dancers to develop strength, flexibility, balance, coordination and confidence — all while having fun and learning new skills.

Whether they’re a complete beginner or already have some acrobatic experience, our classes are suitable for a range of abilities.

✨ WE’RE BACK! ✨

The summer holidays have officially come to an end, and the Holly Mayer Academy of Dance is BACK WITH A BANG! 💥🩰

We hope you’ve all had a wonderful summer and enjoyed some well-deserved time off, but now it’s time to get those dancing shoes back on!

We’re jumping straight back into show rehearsals, with our dancers getting ready for what promises to be an incredible performance!

And that’s not all… classes resume NEXT WEEK! 🙌
We can’t wait to welcome all of our dancers back into the studio, catch up with everyone, and get back to doing what we love most…DANCING!

New term, new goals, new choreography and lots of exciting things ahead… we absolutely cannot wait! 💫
