Taking some time away from the bank, after ticking all his targets off the list last year, Charlie Benson decided it was time to dust off the tackle and joined a new club water last month.

It was literally a repeat of last year and Charlie got to work, ticking off all his target fish in very quick succession:

“The baby black”
“The heart tail common”
“Rosie”
“The black mirror”
“The shallows common”

And some cracking back up fish too!

Guess that leaves Charlie in limbo again and on the hunt for some new targets to chase!

Nothing like a mid week brace of 30s

Stephen Payne’s recent session on his northern syndicate ended well with a couple of lovely mirrors at 33lb 4oz and 30lb 2oz.
Steve said “ as always Rigmarole tackle doin its job in w**dy conditions, giving me 100% faith in my setup”

Skinfull hook link were fished to clear spots in the w**d with size 4 xcalibr hooks, FHX flurocarbon as a leader and a few dabs of putty to pin it all down.

Let’s talk Fluorocarbon materials 👇

Now the Camh2o needs no introduction, a high quality fluorocarbon blend material that has zero memory, requires no steaming to get straight and can be manipulated to create perfect curves for the likes of Chod and Hinge rigs or straightened for Ronnie booms or stiff bottom rigs.

The FHX is a different breed and made from 100% pure fluorocarbon meaning it’s super heavy but unlike many similar products is extremely easy to use and has an element of suppleness and stretch. This is perfect as a shock leader when using braided mainlines.
Due to its suppleness and weight it lends itself well to naked helicopter / Chod setups or just combined with a lead clip, laying discreetly over any bottom debris or w**d.
Although we market this as a leader material, many of the team have been using it to create a multitude of rigs or booms and combining with a supple braid for the perfect combi rigs.

Both products are virtually invisible under water and have accounted for some of the trickiest carp out there!

Tough week in France for Sean Clayton

Being Sean’s first trip to France expectations were high but with souring temperatures the fishing was tough. Although Sean didn’t manage to come away with the monster he was hoping for, lessons were learnt and plans set for a return.

Tackle wise things were kept simple, size 6 xcalibr curve with camh2o in 20lb tied up slip d ronnie style. Freefall tubing completed the setup and was certainly put through the paces with a 30+ sturgeon giving him the runaround!

Some session that was Fishing With Kirk

Back home, cleaned up, and reflecting on an unforgettable 4-day session at S&R Fisheries – Sandpit Lake (Social Point). 🎣

We finished the session with 22 incredible carp on the bank 👀

Rigmarole tackle for the win - including FLX mainline, Freefall tubing, grey Hydrolink hooklengths, and rig components all used to create the deadly drop off PVA bag rigs!

The lake was in fantastic form, producing fish predominantly over the 20lb mark, with the biggest weighing 29lb 4oz. A truly memorable week.
