Was in beautiful Sweden last week and of course, being the boxing geek that I am…I had to visit the statue of former Swedish heavyweight world champion Ingemar Johansson, “The Hammer of Thor.”

Check me out below attempting to recreate his famous right hand. No idea why I went southpaw. 😂

The trip sent me down a bit of a rabbit hole. Johansson has a fascinating story and played a major role in putting European heavyweights on the world stage.

I’m tempted to make a full video on him at some point.

In this film study, I take a look O’Shaquie Foster’s boxing masterclass over Stephen Fulton. It wasn’t the most exciting fight, but it was a fight showing how boxing smart can help you dominate.

For me, Thomas Hearns had one of the most unique blends of length, speed and power boxing has ever seen.

At 6’1 with a 78-inch reach, he knew exactly how to use every inch of it from his lanky frame. His jab controlled the rhythm, froze opponents in place and of course opened the door for that devastating right hand.

I always loved how he mixed the double flicker jab to the head and body while constantly measuring range with his footwork. One moment of hesitation…BANG! The right hand was there instantly.

Even the way he used long lead hand defensively to post out and stop the opponent from entering the space toward him

My full breakdown of the secrets of long, tall and lanky fighters is now up on my YouTube channel.
