As part of our annual Cricket Week, a Chairman’s XI took on a Development XI in an action-packed intra-club fixture at Burtonhole Lane.

Chairman Sam Smith and James O’Sullivan were respective captains, with the Chairman’s XI setting a target of 186 on 20 overs.

Club President Piers Jenkins smashed it about for a bit for the Development XI before the young Uriakhel twins took their side close to the target.

1st XI captain Devraj Ray bowled the final over with James unable to get him away, leading to a narrow win for the Chairman’s XI. That’s seven in a row they’ve now won this annual fixture. Well played all!

This evening we honour our colts founder Ron Bunning at our annual memorial match vs Paddington CC. 5.30pm start. All are welcome.

After an outstanding weekend for the club, all five Saturday sides recorded victories, a brilliant achievement and a reflection of the effort being put in across every level of the club. 👏🏏

The Sunday XI couldn’t quite make it six from six, but they’ll be looking to bounce back this week. With plenty of quality and experience in the side, they’ll be confident of getting back to winning ways.

Good luck to all six teams this weekend 💚💛

Another strong week for the Village and another difficult Team of the Week to pick.

With performances coming from all five sides, there were plenty of players putting their hands up for selection.

Congratulations to this week’s XI and honourable mentions after another successful Saturday for the club.

It’s getting repetitive saying it, but the Village go 5/5 once again.

In the heat, the Village brought the heat. ☀️🏏

The consistency across the club has been outstanding, with every side continuing to contribute to a strong run of form.

The challenge now is simple: keep the standards high and carry it forward into the weeks ahead.

We’ve reached the halfway point of the season and wow what a half it’s been 🤩

There’s been some magnificent moments already but the best is yet to come 💪

The push for promotion and league title is well and truly on for all 6 teams at the village. A strong fight for the remainder of the season will ensure a very successful season across the village 💚💛

This is how all 6 teams line up across the weekend and let’s hope for another week of maximum points 😜

Huge shoutout to these 12 players for having a brilliant weekend. Individual performances of these 12 helped the village win every game on Saturday, something we’ve been used to saying a lot recently 😅

But this isn’t just about 12 players… it’s about the whole MHVCC family. Every player pulling in the same direction, every contribution counting, and every team pushing each other to improve. 💪

Half way through the season now and if the second half is anywhere near as consistent as the first, we’d be looking at 5/5 promotions and how many league wins 🤷‍♂️ 👀🏏💚💛
