That’s a wrap for Cowes Week 2026 bicentenary year ⛵️

A big thank you to the Cowes Week team for allowing us to have Pacemaker on display on the Parade.

Ethan and I were lucky to speak to hundreds of people over the week. It was lovely to see the interest in Pacemaker and our 3,000 mile row. We were blown away with the generosity of so many and we have managed to raise a significant amount of money for our chosen charities 💙

So many things to hit on our night rows on the coast! Thankfully we have the epic 9050 mega torch from that is fully waterproof with a beam distance of 489m! It was a huge help in training to make sure we kept Pacemaker in one piece! 🔦

Cardinal Markers and moored boats don’t mix with ocean rowing boats!

Oh the joys of training to row an ocean. I’m sure all teams can relate to this… so pleased it is over, too stressful!

Thank god we don’t have to think about all this on the Atlantic!

Looks like training is going pretty well 😴

Out on the Atlantic we will be lucky if we get 4-5 hours sleep a day so power naps are incredibly valuable. The downside is Lottie will be having a conversation with Ethan and then before she knows it he’s asleep… must be boring 🥱 Oh and he’s incredibly hard to wake up also, he’s used to the Ambulance life!

Let’s see if can sleep like this when we are rowing in big 15ft waves 🌊

Last weekend Lottie had the pleasure of speaking to HRH The Princess Royal at Cowes Week discussing our up coming 3,000 mile ocean row and our successful 21hr row round the Isle of a Wight which required meticulous planning to get the tides right 🌊

Meet the team 🚣‍♂️

ONE COUPLE | 3000 MILES | ZERO SUPPORT

Ethan Chapman and Lottie Hopkinson-Woolley will be rowing 3,000 miles across the Atlantic Ocean from the Canaries to Antigua setting off in December 2026. Expected to take around 50 days being entirely self sufficient with zero support raising money for three incredible charities close to our hearts. JustGiving link in bio 🔗

Lottie has been sailing since 7 and is finally taking on an ocean!!

Logistics wizard by day, ocean rower by choice. Chief of organisation and navigation with some serious determination behind her!!

Ethan is a paramedic, mountaineer, CVSRT volunteer and a guy who swore he would NEVER get on an ocean rowing boat again! Oops.

Now he’s heading back to the ocean with serious experience, renewed purpose, and zero chill.

Here we go again! 🌊💥

Two ocean crossings down, and heading back for number three!

If you followed her last row, you’ll know the auto-pilot quit, and the crew ended up steering with their feet the entire way across the Atlantic.

Because we’d really prefer not to do that again, we have installed Doris, our brand new auto-pilot! Please be good to us, Doris 🌊
