Ormside Projects

On Wednesday 23rd September, NYC-based digi-punk trio Deli Girls (Dan ) headline Ormside. Fronted by Dan Orlowski (Nu Jazz), the group gained widespread notoriety with 2019’s ‘I Don’t Know How To Be Happy’ – a visceral collision of harsh noise, industrial, and the harder edges of rave. Grounded in anti-authoritarian politics, Deli Girls blur the line between performance and protest. Playing street rallies and venues alike, their music mobilises physical solidarity, highlighting social injustices and emboldening civil unrest. Touring their new album ‘Losing State’ (Industrial Strength Records), the group launch their EU tour at Ormside as a live trio. Support TBA.

Ahead of Carnival weekend, Ormside hosts a double bill of ♾🔳 and feeo. Marking his first UK show in a decade, Alfa delivers fractured pulses and bass-heavy experiments. Producer and vocalist feeo performs a new solo show – moving across shifting songform and static hum. Performances are framed by a rotating film programme curated by Phoebe Beckett Chingono (Phoebe Beckett Chingono) which explores the convergence of black experience and digital media.

Bringing together two defining club institutions, the vital Berlin-London link-up delivers a lineup built strictly for the dancefloor. Sets from ohjeelo, SYLVERE , Rabz Lansiquot, Lil C, kadence, and D3NIM, alongside foundational sets from Night Slugs and EINHUNDERT label heads Bok Bok and Nico Adomako.

Southwark Park’s RALLY returns, and with it comes the customary Ormside after party – this year hosted in collaboration with south-London label Scenic Route. Presenting DJ sets from Montreal duo Jump Source (PRIORI and Patrick Holland), London’s , and a b3b from Scenic Route’s thredd. Rounding out the lineup with NTS resident anu and Scenic Route reps 404 eros.

Club Yeke returns to Ormside on the bank holiday Sunday for a Notting Hill Carnival afterparty. With a focus on platforming artists and local heroes from across the Caribbean islands, the evening sees representation from Trinidad, Jamaica, Martinique, Dominica, Saint Lucia and Curaçao. Alongside hosts TLC and Rozaly, welcoming DJ sets from Boutcha Bwa, DJ Say Less and , as well as a live set from D-opss.

Next Thursday, British-Zimbabwean anthropologist, curator and cultural producer Phoebe Beckett Chingono (Phoebe Beckett Chingono) presents an introduction to the evening at Ormside – curating and assembling a rotating film programme framing performances from feeo and ♾🔳.

Exploring the convergence of black experience and digital media, the programme positions Black techno music within a broader context of Black British techno-cultural production. It draws upon the notion that cinema might amplify what techno music does to the body – altering time, expectation and scale without explicit explanation.

Phoebe Beckett Chingono works across the June Givanni PanAfrican Cinema Archive (JGPACA), iniva (Institute of International Visual Arts), and the London Community Video Archive (LCVA). Her practice spans archival research, ethnographic methods, choreography, and community-based media. Her research explores value, semiotics, and mediating practices, particularly from imperial ‘margins’ in the Caribbean and Sub-Saharan Africa.

Multi-disciplinary artist ÇINTH charts a path through progressive trance and rolling techno, alongside a live set from Naarm/ Melbourne export RBI, weaving dub-techno textures with psychedelic soundscapes. Presenting a double bill of vanguard techno producer ♾🔳 and vocalist and producer feeo at Ormside on Thursday 27th August. Ahead of carnival weekend celebrations in commemoration of the 1958 Notting Hill race riots, we welcome two artists whose practices channel experiences of blackness via the collapsing and re-contextualisation of diasporic music idioms.

Welcoming ♾🔳 to Ormside for his first UK show in a decade. A 90s veteran of UK techno, Alfa embodies resilience, having overcome serious health issues and systemic obstacles over the past few years. In response, his newest work ‘Infinite Black Inside’ (FO) tenderly serves fractured pulses and bass-heavy experiments, drawing on a full spectrum of radical Black music and a lifetime of experience. Free Jazz meets footwork, techno and dub – filtered through Alfa’s own lens to form a sonic imprint entirely his own, imbued with hope.

feeo is the solo project of London-based artist and vocalist Theodora Laird. Working across electronics, written word and performance – feeo investigates the feedback and tension between personal and political story. In her 2025 debut album ‘Goodness’ (AD 93), feeo explores opposing forces of darkness and lightness, delivered via static hum, tape drones and whispers of dance music forms. On the 27th feeo presents a new solo performance at Ormside – her first London show since headlining Institute of Contemporary Arts in February of this year.

DJ Marcelle returns to Ormside on Saturday 22nd August. This time, marking her fourth annual visit to Ormside, we invite the notorious DJ and collector to join us for a live discussion in the club ahead of her extended club set. This offering presents the rare opportunity to hear Marcelle talk through her fascinating life and practice, guided by a handful of records from her colossal collection.

Following the discussion, Marcelle’s customary 3 hour set is framed by sets from two masters of open-format selection: London-based sinny and French-born Wheel of Fortune member Marylou Oiseau Danseur.

Now a household name in certain circles, DJ Marcelle’s work is evidence of a lifelong dedication to sonic detail. A champion of tracks that shouldn’t exist – hidden within the grooves of once-forgotten dubplates – her sets lead with curiosity, asserting a refreshing and open approach to dancefloor curation. As always, she must be seen to be believed.

On closing duties, Marylou Oiseau Danseur returns to Ormside for the first time this year. A Morphine Records associate and member of b4b supergroup Wheel of Fortune (CCL,Nono Gigsta, rRoxymore), her psychedelic and multi-faceted DJ sets have earned her position as a deeply respected DJ and organiser on the international stage.

sinny opens the night, supporting DJ Marcelle for the 3rd time at Ormside since the yearly event first began. Weaving together strands of historically and personally resonant musics that trace and collapse timelines, sinny’s sets are tactile, thoughtful and narrative held together with textured and immersive sonics.
