Transitions set the tone for learning.

At Communication Works, Ewa introduced Guided Movement, one of the activities in the new Cosmo Grow learning suite, to a teacher from a school already using Cosmo to support their SEND learners.

Using the Cosmo Dots, children follow movement prompts by tapping and moving between the illuminated Dots. The activity encourages shared movement, attention and self regulation, helping the whole group transition into learning with greater focus and engagement.

Music, movement and inclusion in action. 🎶✨

At Communication Works, we demonstrated our SEND Firebird lesson plan, created with Ben Sellers as part of our collaboration with BBC Ten Pieces.

Using Cosmo, children can:
• Explore rhythm and movement
• Build attention and engagement
• Develop communication and turn taking
• Experience classical music in an accessible, inclusive way

Before phonics comes the foundations.

At Communication Works, we spoke with one of our long standing Cosmo schools about introducing the new Cosmo Grow learning suite.

Their conversation explores how Cosmo Grow supports the skills that underpin phonics, including attention, listening, communication, memory and turn taking, while aligning with recognised phonics frameworks.

Because confident readers are built on strong foundations.

At Manor Green School, Cosmo was used to support focus, turn-taking, and engagement during a short session with a 14-year-old student.

The result? 15 minutes of sustained participation, listening, and responding with confidence.

What if pupils could see music?
Not just hear it.

Light. Movement. Touch.
That’s where things start to change.

We’ve been exploring how can be taught in a way that:
→ doesn’t rely on notation
→ doesn’t exclude quieter learners
→ doesn’t simplify the music

Just a different way in — using multisensory inputs, from light and movement to simple tactile elements like water and texture.

We’re breaking it down in a live session with today — simple, practical, classroom-ready.
