The North Yorkshire Grand Prix threw down the final gauntlet of the Rapha Super-League today in the form of two attritional races that crowned the overall winners of the series.

The picturesque backdrop of Ampleforth Abbey and quaint villages concealed a challenging route, with constant inclines and toe-curlingly fast descents.

In the morning, the ever-dangerous Anna took the win in the women’s race but it was DAS-Hutchinson’s Morven Yeoman who secured the overall win after a stunningly consistent and impressive season.

In the men’s league, ’s Ollie Wood arrived with a slim lead over WHEELBASE CABTECH CASTELLI’s Tom Armstrong, and though we hoped for a fairytale ending for our club, it wasn’t Ollie’s day. Tom showed his class from the start, and 4th place secured his well deserved title as Rapha Super-League champion.

The date of the Super-League Champion’s Party in London will be announced soon. Stay tuned.

Ollie Wood arrived as one of the favourites to win the Beaumont Trophy, but for the majority of the race it appeared that he’d missed his chance. A big breakaway up the road, race stoppages and a hefty training block looked to have hampered his chances.

That is, until the final lap, when the unforgiving slopes of Ryals hauled back the break, and it became a bunch gallop to the finish line. After over 160km of racing, Ollie Wood ended up in a two up sprint against Tim Shoreman, missing the win by a fraction but taking an incredibly well deserved second place.

This result increases his lead in the Rapha Super-League against Tom Armstrong, with everything to play for in the finale of the series, the North Yorkshire GP, next Sunday, August 16.

It’s race day. We spoke to the organiser of fifty years, Peter Harrison, about the deep history of the races. The Beaumont Trophy is one of Britain’s oldest road races, first run in 1952, while the Curlew Cup has grown into a major women’s fixture in its own right, giving the day real weight across both programmes.

Raced on rolling Northumberland roads with the Ryals climb often proving decisive, they are proper northern classics: hard, selective and steeped in tradition.

The final round of Rapha SummerCross was a humdinger, we’ve only just recovered. The biggest crowds yet turned out for karaoke, Chouffe UK and LUCKY SAINT, and good-natured heckling.

Though the atmosphere was convivial, the racing was serious business. Ex-national cyclo-cross champ Xan Crees ✨ took a dominant victory in the women’s race with Louise Mahe and RCC’s Ruby Breadsauce locked in a fierce battle throughout for 2nd and 3rd. Meanwhile, TEKKERZ’s Alfie Amey whipped his way to the win ahead of Noah.

A fitting send off for the best series of the summer. This was our first time sponsoring SummerCross, but it won’t be the last.

The pursuit of progress: Double wins for the Rapha Cycling Club at the on Wednesday 🩶

New London recruit , having raced hard all season, from to National Series races, took that collective experience and surged through the twisting course on the final lap to take an emphatic victory on the streets of the Steel City.

Then, in the Elite Race, arrived with a pair of 2nd places at and the South Molton GP and utilised his undeniable form to take an overdue win in similar fashion. His second victory at Sheffield, eight years after his first, and he jumps to the top of the Rapha Super-League leaderboard in the process.

The Rapha Super-League reached the sandy, sun-drenched shores of Devon last night for the Dawlish GP. A young race bringing a rare drop of elite town centre crit racing to the South West.

Our small but solid squad made an impact far beyond their numbers. Amy Perryman lit up the women’s race, her daring attacks helping to pave the way for Meg Barker to take the win in her National Champions stripes in an incredibly close bunch finish. Just like her other seaside victory at the National Championships, Meg’s formidable track sprint brought home the win by millimetres.

Meanwhile, Ollie Wood took on the open/men’s race and though the winning break went early, he never gave up, never far from the front of the chasing pack, and finished a respectable 5th, coming up top in the bunch sprint.

After a hard days work in Dawlish, the Super-League standings are getting more interesting, and there are only three races to go with Sheffield Grand Prix next week on July 22, followed by the Beaumont Trophy and Curlew Cup on August 9 and the final round, the North Yorkshire GP on August 16.
